I did a better job on a virgin cable. I sliced through my neighbour's cable. Cut their phone and TV off for a week. Cable was on our land (inches) No charge for repair. Did allow neighbour wifi access via our router though.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0

Will do thanks. It was on old NTL cable that Virgin had connected their gear.victor2 said:Deleted_User said:

They came a day early yesterday and fixed the issue.0 -
Did the VM tech say chargeable or not ?, it could be they ( to avoid confrontation) don’t mention it to you at the time , but advise their ‘control’ that the cable was damaged rather than ‘failed’ and the control then add the charge, seems to me you may have to wait for the next couple of bills to know for sure, many company’s stress the need to raise charges if appropriate, obviously some techs will follow ‘policy’ others will take a more compassionate view and disguise the real ‘clear’ with a non chargeable one1

If they do charge then make a complaint as after 8 weeks you can go to CISAS for adjudication.0

That he was charged for the repair of a cable which wasn't sufficiently deeply buried and not marked??Chino said:
What would be the nature of the OP's complaint? That he was charged for repairing a cable that he damaged?pphillips said:If they do charge then make a complaint as after 8 weeks you can go to CISAS for adjudication.

I'm certain no one would like a section of their lawn or flower bed "marked" to indicate where a cable is!brewerdave said:

The OP simply needs to be more careful digging in his garden in future.Virgin may well waive any charge, particularly if the cable was cut cleanly. I agree if they do charge then £99 is exorbitant.1 -
