Morning all, taken a chance and put the bedding on to wash; it was a bit grey earlier but is definitely brightening up now; just hope it will line dry and I don't have to resort to the tumble dryer but may have to as there is virtually no wind.

Great that you have your kitchen back milann and good to see you posting again.  The saying "Good when you can, careful when you can't" comes to mind.  Hopefully once you get your kitchen sorted and you can remember where you've put things you'll be able to be 100%!  There's still time to lose a few pounds before Christmas so good luck.

I ended yesterday on 6.5 syns so some syns to carry forward for the weekend!

    Today's plan:

B - stuffed mushrooms - S; F; 2 (who knew that fresh herbs are Speed!)
    L - carrot & lentil soup - P; S; F
    D - hunters chicken; jacket potato; carrots & green beans - P; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
HEB - none planned but  may have a couple of Ryvita with some Primula light for a couple of syns
Syns - Primula light 2; rum & ginger beer 5

Looks like there may well be more syns to carry forward for the weekend so might even open a bottle of wine tomorrow night.

  • Been mia, as despite being lucky enough to be able work throughout this torrid time, only having 2 days off all year and not being this busy at work for years, it caused my mental health to suddenly take a knock back. Consequently, I went into self destruct mode and have gained half a stone. While in the grand scheme of things, that could have been so much worse, going backwards in the weightloss did not help either.

However, I hope I have turned the corner, the only thing that had been keeping me going was the knowledge that I would be off work from Christmas Eve to New Year and as we get closer to it, I am feeling a bit more positive.  Today is the first day of a new week (WI on Thursday), and while we are still having Zoom meetings until January, I certainly feel more focussed and hope that I can reverse the whole lot again before we go back to class, or if not, at least have a good attempt at it. I know people are stressing about Christmas, but I have decided it is one day, do what I want and then get it out of my system.

On the plus side, we have a new bub in the family! A big bruiser of a healthy girl, so it is lovely that we are ending the year with good news.

Hope every one is keeping safe.
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Welcome back GTQ and glad you have turned a corner.  Lovely to have good news at the end of a horrible year for us all.

No I didn't get my washing dry either bubbs!  I finished off the sheet & pillow cases in the dryer which didn't take long as they had at least partially dried.  The quilt cover is draped over the airer so should be dry by the morning (hopefully!).

Looking forward to dinner as I've never actually cooked hunters chicken before although have had it in a restaurant many moons ago!

I half dried mine in the drier, then put on the airer , the other load is in the machine still, finished but can't be bothered to go outside to it 🤣 but that is a thick cotton table cloth so i can see that going in the drier , it was supposed to be a bedspread but too small for my bed we only have a double, so i had a brain wave to use as a tablecloth 😂 It's all white and top stitched so looks lovely :D

I have never cooked hunters chicken either , hope you enjoy it :D

Great to see you posing gtq. Sorry to hear you've been having a tough time but looking forward to the break coming soon. Half a stone really isn't very much compared with the horror stories around about over indulging during lockdown. It's only 7lbs over almost 9 months! Enjoy your break and then focus on getting back on plan for 2021. Congratulations on the new addition too. 😊

I've more or less given up on trying to dry washing outdoors denise. That's what generally happens at this time of the year. I tend to do smaller loads that are easily manageable on the airers  without taking over the house and just resort to the tumble drier when I change the bedding. Fortunately I don't use tablecloths. We have an octagonal dining table that looks better with mats as cloths don't hang right. For Christmas, I have special lace mats that I bought in Hong Kong. I even starch those!! 🤣

I used my Lidl voucher for this week's shop. It was odd shopping in a different store because I had to look for things. In Aldi, I can almost  shop blindfold. 🤣 I noticed that they had Primula for 99p although I really didn't need any. I still needed to go to Aldi  (5 minutes away) as Lidl caulis were awful, no ordinary carrots and they don't seem to sell pain au lait which is DH's staple lunch.😉 We have the Times delivered every day so I'll have 2 more vouchers. I'll use one for next week's shop and the other midweek for store cupboard things and stuff for the foodbank.  There was an interesting Government supplement in the paper today about the NHS drive for healthy eating/weightloss to help against Covid. Not much that was new to us but they did rank food values. Not surprising that fruit and veg were first in line. Dairy, fats and sugars were at the end. What surprised me was that they valued carbs higher than protein. 🤔

    Friday favourite here too bubbs.😋

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash, baked beans (F), bacon, scrambled eggs (P) , HEB toast, HEA1 milk
L- LO chicken casserole and veg (P,S, F)
D- Fake KFC (P), SW chips (F), garlic mushrooms, broccoli, sugar snaps, tomato (S), HEA2 cheese
    Syns- weekend wine😊

This is one of the government websites the articles were based on.
The Eatwell Guide - NHS (www.nhs.uk)
There are others on calorie counting, exercise and apps for various things like recipes.

Mine was just under too (because of weighing courgettes which I had to guess ) but I grabbed a bar of chocolate marzipan! 🤣

When I have a minute I'm going to compare receipts from the same products from an Aldi shop. Obviously 25% off is great but I have the feeling Aldi is better with normal prices. Aldi was ever so quiet when I called in for the bits I needed,  probably because of the vouchers. 🤔
