Thank you Valli for last weeks thread..
Please follow the forum rules on this thread as Flylady has been here a LONG time and is a fabulous support and resource for lots of us. All posts should have some Flylady-related (ooh a compound adjective) content!
The idea is that even if you are really busy you don't need to fall off the wagon!
These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.
Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.
A few of the basics before we start the week
Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
Fling Boogie - stick on
some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that
can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything
that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a
sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily
basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes
to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other
music may be used if you prefer!

Dot-to-dot ~ pick a small area (not a whole room) like a
chair/coffee/table/shelf/worktop or wherever- thats your first 'dot' - totally
clear it - clean it - and only put back what should be there - deal with what
you have removed (not just move it somewhere else) then if you have time move
on and do the same to another 'dot' -the idea is just like a dot to dot puzzle,
you aim to join up all the dots and have a tidy room. The trick is to keep each
dot tidy until you get them all joined up! All credit to AnW's Mum for this one
RoD ~
Room of Doom, the one room that feels like it is a permanent pit and cannot be
used to its potential!
MAD half hour- Mad is the abbreviation for
Make A Difference.
The idea is that you have a Forth bridge (ie
never-ending - or just huge) task but that you work on it in half-hour bursts.
This way you know you ARE stooping, and that you won't get it finished but you
will make a difference - so it might be clearing out - the garage or shed, or
clothes sorting, or weeding - you get the picture - but rather than keep going
until you've lost the will to live you do half an hour...but, eventually those
half hours will get the job done!

Valli yes it was me that made the cheese and wild garlic scones... I take it you discovered how yummy they are..
I am going to be making some more this coming week as I am getting some more wild garlic delivered with the veg box this Tuesday
Oh and yes I'm back finally... I think I have had everything thrown at me. Once I started feeling better from the virus that hit me I then started getting my IBS playing up. This then knocked me out of action for about three days..I'm now only just beginning to reduce the painkillers to only twice a day now instead of 4 times a day.. I must admit I have seen more of my sofa than I normally do..although couldn't tell you what I've watched on t.v..lol
So now I'm hoping to get myself back into the swing of things again especially as my house desperately needs some tlc..

Welcome back Natty.
A fairly lazy day. Watched a bit of Sunday Worship on BBC then watched our village on line service.
Did a fair bit of gardening, nowhere near as much as Mr N who doesn't do slothdom to my level. New seeds arrived - melon, normal and white carrot (which is a new one on me so had to try them).
Walked friend's dog.
Enjoyed pasta and cheese sauce with my newly purchased gf pasta, at last I have some!
Disappointed that my decluttered magazines seem to be of no interest to the village. One man asked if I had any Mayfair, Readers' Wives or another, presumably adult, magazine I'd not heard of. I wasn't particularly offended but felt it was a bit unnecessary for him to put that on a village FB, so I didn't get drawn into replying!
Did a bit more tax return. I've almost finished my spreadsheet, just need to decide whether to wait for uni to issue a P60 for the tiny bit of non self-employed work I did for them, and annual statements from bank.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.13 -
Morning all. Welcome back Natty [insert waving emoji] - and thank you for starting us off on a new week. Thanks also to Valli for last week's inspiration!
After gardening instead of snoozing all afternoon, I crawled into bed about 2 hours earlier than usual, so of course this morning I've woken up 2 hours earlier than usual. Rosie heard me move, decided she wanted to go out in the garden, and then barked furiously at something behind the pots on the decking. I got the torch and found a lovely plump hedgehog. He or she is very welcome to move in and feast on my slugs and snails
Yesterday I moved out all the pots and bags in the back yard, mended the trestles, swept out the dead leaves, planted some sprouting red potatoes in the thick black compost bags that I had squirrelled away under the table, and put everything back neatly; planted out French, borlotti and broad beans undisturbed in their toilet roll inners; mowed the lawn; and had a chat with our NNDN, at the end of which he rushed round with his extra-long tree loppers and pruned the top branches off the pyracantha which I had no hope of reaching. In return I gave him cake
Today I must
- do as much of today's list as possible/necessary, especially checking the appointments for this week - I have a Zoom meeting at 10.00 this morning, DH has one this evening, and there are various phonecalls from different hospital departments (routine appointments) to listen out for: I need to stick up individual reminders on the kitchen cupboard where we keep the coffee
- WM x2 or 3
- ring building society, check finances via online bank, and move money around
- make some church phonecalls
- start (and maybe even finish) the church Gift Aid claim, now that I've got all the necessary info
- catch up with zzz after lunch
- walk Rosie
- remember to water the bedding plants that I bought to fill the patio pots
It is now daylight, so I reckon the day has officially started. Hope you all have a good one xxx

Morning all
Welcome back Natty. Thanks for the thread.
I got a head start on the kitchen list yesterday, I cleared out 4 drawers and 3 of the cupboards, washed them, decluttered a few bits and put everything away neatly. The dining room is also done and the floors were mopped.Paid stuff for me today and once again I’ve been awake for ages, will get myself showered and dressed and on to it very shortly.
No wm here at the moment, the floor where it sits is uneven as the tiles don’t go all the way back into the recess, we had put some wood underneath the machine at the back to stabilise it but I think it’s come off so when it was spinning last it was shaking the house, not good for us, the neighbours or the machine !!!. I’ve ordered a special mat to go under it, I only want to move it once though, it’s in such an awkward spot...so no washing until it arrives!!Have a good day all, take care x10 -
MorningThank you for all the lists xHope to go to the cattery today, and drop off frontline and fingers cross she will let me see my cat, as she is on lockdown.VAT also to do today, shouldn't take long but it is the getting round to it, (I have no excuses) hopefully I have all the paperwork I need with me, if my packing plan went to schedule.Have a safe and good dayBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Morning all,
Thank you for the lists I am in. Back to something resembling home schooling today. I have just heard about Oak national academy putting lessons online so will look at that. DW has been unloaded, it's a bright beautiful day so I will get the dogs bedding in to wash. Did loads of decluttering yesterday and it's bin day tomorrow which is good 🤗
I hope everyone has a super day, take care xx10 -
Morning all
Natty they were delicious - and it got me out of the house - wild garlic grows in abundance down by the brook. I have been meaning to forage and use some for years so thanks for the kick up the derriere. I posted a pic on facebook and a friend said about making wild garlic butter so I'm going to do that next... it will make awesome garlic bread (which DS loves).
I'm also making excellent progress with a baby cardigan for my colleague who's due in maybe 5 weeks...lost track tbh. I have cunningly acquired her home address (as I organised a delivery of flowers as she went into isolation and we didn't get to wish her off on her mat. leave) so I shall post it. And I'm going to drop a couple of scones off at the aged P's - might walk up there actually.
I stripped DS's bed yesterday so that will go on the line later. And I need to do a bit of wfh though I have been doing bits over the hols. I've got a proper official job to do so that needs doing.
Must look at the list - hope it's the kitchen.
And Natty - lovely to see you - hope you continue to improve x.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear9 -
I am in again this week, still no excuse not to be.
Good weekend with a couple of nice walks with OH, different to our usual evening loop. A Facetime chat with both DDs and then with friends in UK. Quite good progress done in the garden, but the more you do the more you notice that needs to be done.
Plan for today is to make a last batch of masks and then put the machine away, it's annoying me being on the dining room table all the time. I need to get on with sorting admin and tax return next. I will do masks this morning and then clean and remake bed this afternoon.
Today I have
Picked up clothes
Stripped bed
Booked doctor's appointment for repeat prescription, early tomorrow morning so hopefully there won't be many people.
Sent email to friend with mask patterns etc (it's going to test her French)
DW on (thank you OH)
So time to close PC and get cutting out before I make coffee

Morning xx
Glad to hear you are on the mend Natty xx
Weekend Willi fluttered rather than flew at the weekend. Badcat - you prompted me to jump into my car and take it for a spin. It started - so I'm hoping I've avoided the flat battery syndrome this weekend. Touch wood! Yesterday I walked to the village C00p to do my weekly shop.Walking there was ok, walking back with a bag full of shopping (including milk, bananas and baked beans) was challenging, but I did it. Had a brief stop at the seat at the crossroads to catch my breath. Turns out you can't use your Mr T clubcard to collect Mr C00p dividend points
- guess who grabbed the wrong loyalty card when she decided not to bother with her handbag and just shoved debit card, loyalty card, phone and keys into various pockets
Another glorious day so I've set towels and tea towels swishing whilst I have my morning brew,
Round 1 =
get washed and dressed
peg out washing
set 2nd load swishing (jeans)
breakfast
feed birds
