holiday extras havent refunded me

Hi all, I’m new to the forum, so please bear with me.
I recently had accommodation and parking booked with Holiday Extras, who cancelled my booking in the 21st of April, as my hotel was booked at Heathrow for the 7th of May.
They are not issuing refunds at all, instead making everybody use vouchers, which need to be used in 18 months, I’m pretty sure this is breaking the law, as they’ve not provided me with my goods/services, yet are hanging onto my cash.
whats the deal here?0 -
@taffymike
If you read the many other similar questions .
Yes vouchers have become standard as they don't have the funds.
Yes it probably breaks the refund within 14 days law.
Your options are :-
Take the vouchers
Claim on your travel insurance
Section 75 claim if paid by credit card
Small claims court as last resort.

Hopefully a Mod can move it
If like me you had free cancellation (normal with parking & hotel) then you are entitled to your money back.

The Competition and Markets Authority is crystal clear in their advice. Companies cannot hold on to your money if they have not provided a service, either because you or themselves cancel. They cannot hide behind force majeure clauses, which create an unfair imbalance between parties.

They are still deleting every Facebook comment that goes on any of their posts. And they have now blocked me from commenting after I advised someone how to instigate a small claims court action 😅1

I have managed to raise a chargeback dispute with Lloyds Credit Card £84.15 for the cancellation of hotel & parking booked with these criminals. I have told them I will not hesitate take them to court and thy simply replied about the T&Cs saying its a force majeure event. If they dont dispute within 45 days, money stays with me
if they do dispute, they will be in court.

I messaged my bank Nationwide last week to ask for a charge back but no response yet. I received my credit card bill today and I have received full refund for £47.99 dated 20/4 from hxpayments. I did not receive any other notification of this. The last email I had received from Holiday Extras 31/3 said 'Thank you for your request for a refund. We will process this for you, it will go back to the card you used when booking. The payment will show up on your statement as HXPAYMENTS.' so, thanks Holiday Extras.0
