Alpharooms refund

Hi. We have a hotel booking with Alpharooms for Benidorm on 14th May. I have read some reports that they are difficult to deal with regarding refunds & that they are taking 10% cancellation fees from people. Has anyone had any dealings with this company? We have travel insurance but not sure if the refund should be coming from Alpharooms rather than the insurance company.
Thank you
Thank you

First step is to contact Alpharooms yourselves and find out how you stand rather than rely on what you have read elsewhere. The refund should be coming from them.1

Thanks. We weren't due to fly till 14th of next month so will wait as I know they will be busy dealing with people who are due to fly before then.0

Initially when AlphaRooms called they said they'd give me a credit note, which I declined as I wanted a refund to my credit card. They said tif they did that they would keep 10%. I refused and we had an argument.
I've since followed up 4-5 times via email (tried calling them at one point, but they'd switched off their phone lines) and each time I get a response telling me to please be patient. This is really p***g me off, as the hotel (its an MGM hotel) has a statement on their website saying all bookings up to 30 April have been cancelled and automatically refunded.
So basically, AlphaRooms is hoping I get bored of chasing them and they can keep my money.
I have now gone down the chargeback route with my credit card. I could also claim via my travel insurance as I have cover, but why should AlphaRooms keep my hard earned cash when the hotel has automatically refunded it?!
Lesson learned: NEVER book with AlphaRooms if you want peace of mind.

I have booked with alpharooms, hotel only should have gone today to Benidorm, they won't give a refund only credit note which is no good, husband has lung disease cannot now go abroad until there's a vaccine, been onto my credit card company and they said cannot charge back because of what it says in the terms and conditions of the travel company. I found out that the name on payment is Alpha holidays Ltd, therefore this has different conditions and credit card company said there is nothing they can do for me. As anyone else had this experience.1

It's a S75 you want.
The two terms are legally different.
New User name as MSE gave me a number in my old one.

Hi
I am also having problems with Alpharooms, we have had two accommodations cancelled and they are insisting on a credit note however we have further accommodation already booked for this year (which will no doubt also get cancelled) . Every time I contact them by support I get the same response. I have applied for chargeback so will see what response I get on this0 -
Same issue here. Just got my cancellation email and the only mention is of a credit refund until May 2021. After which time I can request a cash refund.
No chance in hell im waiting 1 year to request my own money back.
Looks like I may need to go the credit card route also.0 -
I've still not heard from them yet. We were due to travel on the 14th May but it's not looking like a refund is going to be easy.0

I've received an email which seems to be from a Spanish travel company to say the hotel is cancelled, no other info regards refund. Still not received anything from Alpharooms.0
