Morning all and Happy New Year!
Back to school tomorrow although for me no students will be there. Be nice for my two to go back as they miss their friends and it will be nice to get back into a routine.Food shop on New Years Day cost £120 so a bit more than the £100 I anticipated but hey ho! I managed to convince husband to not do a top up shop on New Year’s Eve as he wanted to get some cooking chocolate for a cake and I told him to just use drinking chocolate. It work and we prob saved ourselves £20 as we would have found other things to buy. This shop is to last until Friday.
In other news the wardrobes have arrived. One is up. Husband will put up the other one today. After three years of being here we finally have a bedroom!!! We will need the extra storage units inside but this is a great start.I’ve updated my signature with the loan figures today as they will come out of the bank tomorrow. We are in the £6xxx!!!Happy Sunday everyone!

Ha I spoke to soon! Had an email a few hours ago from my kids school saying that it was closed until Thursday unless both adults in the house are key workers. I’ve already let my school know i can’t come to work tomorrow as I need to sort a routine for husband to stick to so he can squeeze in homeschooling our two whilst on back to back conference calls!!! 😩Debt-free Jan 2023 | MFW date Dec 2033. Ugh.... what a nightmare. Last time, our school just insisted on one parent being a key worker, both seems harsh!DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

I heard another parent say their school had imposed this as well. Pretty harsh. Could mean some parents have to take unpaid leave. What if there is only one parent at the main residence..?1
-
Yes our school was both parents last time, I think the school just wanted as few children as possible1
-
I don't think they can actually insist on both. My hospital released a long email quoting the department of education etc and although they 'strongly advise' children staying home if there is a non keyworker parent there, they can't insist. ONE critical worker allows you to access key worker school.
The hospital was telling staff this as they obviously want us all in.... everyone I know who challenged reluctant schools were allowed places in the endDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)
