  • Evening all
My brilliant boss has encouraged me to take a few days off sick to get in control of my anxiety. I’ve bought a course from a psychotherapist called Anna Mather whom I follow on Instagram and completed seven days of it already today. It’s about reframing anxiety and I am relearning that my thoughts are just leaves swishing around in the wind. I don’t need to pick them up and look at them. Husband has been trying to encourage me to go back to my life coach but I feel I need resetting not coaching. It’s just all got a bit too much. I’m paying for the course out of the holiday money. It’s £50. I’m planning to go back to work on Friday as I will be in work and it will be less overwhelming than being at home and trying to work and homeschool and childcare.
But if I need more time I shall take it.
Taking time off was a good idea.

Well done @crunchy_time, sounds like you needed a break, glad your boss was understanding, that's how they should all be at the moment.  Hope you get to relax even in a little way with something off your shoulders for a day or two

Ah @crunchy_time I’ve just caught up. Bless you, everything is so overwhelming at the moment. I’ve struggled lately. And I think most people are. So much is expected of us at the moment. But we are only one person, and only human. I’ve been shutting myself in the toilet a couple of times a day, just to have a 5-10 minutes of peace, whilst I read the diaries on here. It is so hard, but you’re doing so well. And it sounds like the course is really helping. Keep your chin up lovely.
  • Thanks for the lovely supportive comments! I really appreciate them. Had a morning of homeschooling, a few arguments about screen time, followed by a walk to the shop for choc, yoga, painting and now dinner is simmering whilst the children play outside and I’m having a sneaky glass of wine. Oh I also went for a run before breakfast and ran my 3rd fastest 5k! Swings and roundabouts.
I’ve been working on stopping the negative thoughts about not being good enough and reframing them as just thoughts and not the reality.
Work have been brilliant- I haven’t always been this lucky though and been shouted at by my boss when I’ve needed to take time off before - for kids.
Tonight’s plans are to have a play around with my jewellery making again. I watched a tutorial for wire jewellery last night and I am inspired. I’m thinking that getting a project going is going to be the thing that gets me through February. I’m not even thinking as far ahead as March yet.
Hope everyone else is ok. It’s really pants at the moment is it. My heart goes out to you if you are like me and struggling with all the extra expectations. We can do this. I’m determined to not go under.

  • Hello all!
Lovely day today! Feel miles less stressed than I did. I’ve been playing around with jewellery making whilst watching the rugby and made a pairs or triangle earrings. The site wrapping is relaxing me. I’m going to buy some more tools with my spending money when I get paid in two weeks time.
We tried to buy the internal shelves and drawers for our wardrobes today but the Lewis of John will only let you buy in stores - so that has gone on the back burner for a bit.  When we get paid at the end of the month we will have a nice chunk to put towards the garden this spring. I had change around of the kitchen this week and I feel like a new women. It’s funny how something so small can make you feel better.
Husband and I have done well for the last 2 weeks for food money and have stuck to our£150 a week budget. It seems that that is our magic number - and this is shopping in sains as well.
So all in all feel better than I did this time last week. I’m blocking out all the negativity and focusing on the positives.
oh - so far this year I have run 26 miles! A massive achievement for me!! I’m now working up to 10k after comfortably managing 5k regularly now.
The other positive is that on 1st March we will be down to £5.5k of consumer debt!

  • Morning all
First day of 'half term' which is basically lockdown without homeschooling.  Although I have told me two we will still do some of the topic work we didn't get to do because I/husband had to work.  And also spellings.  And reading.
So far we have nipped to m&s to get a meal deal for husband and my anniversary this week.  I also picked up a new book to get into from t esco and a few cards and presents for the birthdays that are coming up.
We have a number of financial things we wanted to get ticked off this week.  Firstly was to up our mortgage payments by a little.  Not very dave ramsey but it makes us feel a lot better.  It's gone from £1136 to £1250 so not that much at all.  All it it will do is stop us thinking we have more money and make us slow down and be more responsible.  Over the 25 year term that will save us £7778 on interest and reduce the term by 2 years and 9 months.  In about 5-6 years time we are planning to move again (when both kids are at high school) and looking at house prices now will probably need to borrow another £50k to get what we want.  So the more we get used to having a higher mortgage amount per month the better.  If we get to go on our holiday this summer, after it, I shall up it by another £50 to £1300.
I now have a HUGE pile of things to e bay so hoping to get some of that on there this afternoon.  I sorted out a load of cupboards this weekend.  I want to spring clean the house so we can get into the garden as soon as the weather gets better.
    Hope everyone is good!

  • It took about two hours but I finally got all the stuff on eBay! Already sold something to post tomorrow! I had added a couple of cardigans of my own to the bag but have now decided to keep them with a few adjustments! Xx
