Can I be paid ??

Suspended? Doesn't really matter at this point because you're shielding anyway, so you won't receive pay while shielding.

I don't really understand why this came through from my employer - I'd said I have to shield. I thought in the beginning he had the choice to furlough me but since learnt, no, as we were saying earlier.
I had a holiday date booked , pre corona, which now falls during the 12 week shielding time so I thought it best to ask him do I need to sort another date out now or is later ( maybe when we are all back to normal ) ok.
I didn't understand the " suspended job" before, but when in touch over the said holiday, he said my job's suspended, then he said it's on hold.
I asked for clarification and he went nuts again.
He also said he's taken on casual help in my abscence.
I just wish he would make his mind up0
