    Morning all,
Lovely to sit with a coffee & catch up with what everyone's been doing. Useful sounding cake recipe, Ziggy. Thanks for sharing. Might try that at some point.
Nothing very exciting planned. Mr F got the weekly shopping last night when fewer folk about & no supermarket queue. He is driving out to local-ish windmill tomorrow as our flour order is ready. We intend to carry on with spring garden jobs, share the weekly house clean & generally amuse ourselves as best we can. I think I'll write to my friend, who is struggling to prop up other family members atm. I have some sewing to attempt, but am not very confident with sewing, whereas I'll have a go at practically any knitting pattern. Trying to encourage myself by saying that if the sewing works out, I'll have a new top to wear.
Ziggy - it must be difficult with your Mum. The friend I mentioned is in a similar situation. Very hard.
    Stay safe all,

    Morning frugal pals. Lovely to wake with sunshine out in force. Also lovely to find my veg box with a few extras at the back door.  My list for today;

    put away veg box
    check bank, update budget
make a list of a few things I’ve ordered and as deliveries (understandably) are a bit haywire tick them off when they arrive.
    Make cookies with smalls
couple of video calls this afternoon to catch up
tweak meal plan now I know what’s arrived in fruit and veg box
couple of loads of washing done and pegged out
water seeds and plant a few more. Plant on the pak Choi and beetroot that are ready for bigger homes.
    Knit

have a good day all. Purps.

@PurpleFairy26 we set up a spreadsheet last autumn for deliveries, very simple, a column for date ordered, from whom, ETA, notes. It is a shared spreadsheet so either of us can fill it in when we order something and we delete the entry when it arrives. We have found it particularly useful when we are having lots of deliveries ie around Christmas or when things are going to take a while and now when deliveries can be erratic.
We have made it a sheet on our finance spreadsheet so we check it regularly.
    Thanks for that tip @Baileys_Babe

Seems sensible to have one all year now you mention in. Plus it’s also a good visual of level of orders!!!!

Hi morning all, trying to stretch content of store and fridge for an other day without going shopping! So random stuff for lunch, and probably a veggie chili for dinner, not that bad really.
Spent an hour and fifteen just doing random chores around the house, and have decided that other people doing chores cant be conditional - if you do that then I'll do this, from here on forward its just do it or this place will be a sti! Basically we are a lot more disciplined now than the first weeks we were home. Tidying up really reduces stress  and conflict. And while I'm ready to take the lead, I don't want to have to point at every detail and go ... do this do that ... it really should start happening by itself/voluntarily which it does a fair bit to be true. Chores can be a welcome distraction form binge watching or trying to study!
It's a more feisty day out there which is quite refreshing.

@ditty1234 would it be useful to make a list of chores, separating it into say daily, weekly, occasionally, set days (bin day), other frequencies that you need. Then everybody knows what needs to be done and when. That way just you who knows what needs doing.

  • Good Morning (just!) Everyone
I am new according to my name, but I used to read and a while ago contribute to this thread.  I am wondering does anyone know how I am able to get back my old name: NewlyFrugalMumof3, as when I tried to logon and forgot my password, system didn't recognise my email address, despite me receiving Martin's weekly emails?
I hope someone knows and can help.
    Thank you.

    T.  :)
