Waitrose as of yesterday are still using bags (pedal bin liners?) but I keep a few large bags near the door for the day when they stop.

Some drivers are quite happy to put things just inside your door if you stand well back. If they are, put a large towel or sheet down and then you can drag it back and shut your door.1 -
