They won't do it during the pandemic, they have been told not to

    And I don't blame them

Iceland delivered to me and left on doorstep in bags. Ocado also. Abel & Cole and Riverford are using more polythene bags, within the cardboard boxes. Normally, Riverford would knock on door and hand the box over and Ocado would bring bags  into the kitchen if you want.

Hi, I managed to get a delivery slot with Asda last week for tomorrow.

I have asked for delivery to be left outside front door.
Can someone tell me if it will be left in bags as the website is saying different things.
On changing my order slightly the following email said customers should leave bags/boxes outside.

The website says bags will be used.
But my last two orders since that announcement have been unbagged, someone else on a different forum told me the same, his was unbagged also.  I dont know why they not bagging food.

It could be not all stores have sufficient supplies of bags consistently.

So now PPE also stands for Produce Packing Equipment.

It might be a lack of bags - given they went 'bagless' a while ago, they probably don't have the supply chain for the millions of extra bags they'll need.
It could also be linked to PPE - I wonder if the suppliers that can produce carrier bags are pre-occupied producing plastic aprons etc?

I have noticed that Iceland and Waitrose are using plain white plastic bags. Morrisons is using branded paper carrier bags. Not had any probs with people knocking front door, and stepping back. I just yell thanks and give them a thumbs up.

As I was making my lunch today, I saw an Asda online delivery made to a property which I can see from my kitchen window. Delivery driver took the crates the house and rang the bell. On the door opening to customer, he went back to his van and sorted something out, whilst resident emptied crates. Saw a few carrier bags which probably had chilled/frozen/small items. Things like cereal, multipacks of dog food were loose.

Delivery driver took the crates away. Though I have seen properties on my walks with Asda crates by front doors. Hopefully they are repeat customers.

I had my 8th delivery from Asda today. The first was bagged, but the subsequent 7 have not been (with the exception of frozen goods) so it's just loose in the crates.

I have had 6 deliveries from Asda and all my shopping has been bagged, sometimes they are bags for life and sometimes a mixture of the bags for life and plain white ones.
