Online shopping deliveries to door?
I have no personal experience of online shopping deliveries, but someone just told me about their first couple of experiences.
We're interested in what others have experienced regarding their online deliveries during covid-19 with all supermarkets - particularly with Tesco.
Do / should they deliver direct to your door even if you're in a flat or block of flats without a lift but with a couple of flights of stairs?
The drivers in her case called them to collect their groceries from downstairs rather than lifting up (which most if not all supermarkets have done previously before the outbreak).
Were the drivers just being lazy or is that company policy? What about courier deliveries?

I work as a dotcom driver. We have been advised that we should not enter a property unless absolutely necessary at the moment. In normal circumstances, it is at the discretion of the driver whether to carry the shopping upstairs or not.

Hi, I managed to get a delivery slot with Asda last week for tomorrow.
I have asked for delivery to be left outside front door.
Can someone tell me if it will be left in bags as the website is saying different things.
On changing my order slightly the following email said customers should leave bags/boxes outside.

For your contactless delivery:- Your driver will leave your shopping in carrier bags on your doorstep. If you live in a flat, your driver will leave the bags at your front door. Your driver may call ahead where needed to ask for details of where to leave your shopping.
- To minimise contact, your driver cannot accept refunds in person. This includes for unwanted substitutes. Instead, keep the items and request a refund online. See 'Online refunds' below.
- To keep everyone safe, your driver is not allowed to enter your property under any circumstance.

They've now gone back to using bags. Updating every mention of no longer using bags on the website understandably isn't a priority. They now aren't allowed to let us touch the crates. The only logical solution I could come up with to not using either bags or the crates was to tip your shopping outside your door or gate. At least this gave my delivery driver a probably much needed laugh.

Tip - If you are self-isolating, genuinely, as in not going out of your door unless really necessary; if you put "self isolating" on your online order in the delivery notes, the drivers will (should) bring the items to outside your door even if in a block of flats, providing of course the lift works. If not, they will only deliver to the front entrance to the building.0

So it got touched again by the driver. Oh well!!!!YoursCalley xHope for everything and expect nothing!!!
