Managed a run this morning, lovely morning.
One load through DW.
One load through WM which included 3 bathroom mats and 2 towels, so my interrupted blitz on the bathroom has continued. Even put more compost and plant food into the bathroom spider plant's pot. Shower cleaned, mirror and towel rail shiny, floor mopped etc. So although I'm now a day behind - haven't even dared look to see which room I should be tackling today - at least there is some good flying going on.
Rang my SIL as it's her birthday and their wedding anniversary.
Watched the village online church service.
Dug up more roaming foxgloves and forget-me-nots for the 5 people on the 'waiting list'. Can't believe I now have a waiting list for the seeds, I'm not going to spend any more time digging up plants and bagging them for people this weekend! One lovely lady brought 5 Roses chocolates in a bag and carefully balanced them on my gate post to say thanks for the plants, then messaged me to say they were there.
Made an orange, almond and polenta cake which, after a bit of persuasion, managed to be enticed out of its tin in more or less one piece. Put orange butter icing and mini chocolate eggs on it. Yum.
Took friend's dog for a walk. Had intended to take her some cake, but at that stage it was still sulking in the tin refusing to budge, I'll take her some tomorrow.
Decided we will visit Ald! tomorrow as it's 8 days till our Mr T c&c, although Mr N managed to get some bananas from the village shop this morning and the milkman actually left 2 x 4pack yogurts. Have got orders from both neighbours so I think we will take in a trolley and a list each.
YL I hope things pick up for you and your family.
Had dinner while watching the musical JC Superstar, which I always like to do at Easter - any time really. Funny we'd already decided to watch the DVD when on TV they advertised that it was being streamed free!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Good evening 😁
I haven't posted at all today! I had a lazy start reading in bed.
Then we had a day in the garden. I still have a tiny bit of patio to do, but it's nearly finished. DH has been fence/shed painting. He also set up the garden shredder and he and DS shredded the pruning from the buddliea & cherry tree, and the old fuchsia we dug up. I planted some rocket, spinach & lettuce in a pot that will sit mainly in the shade.
I then spent a bit over an hour at the allotment. Another bed laid, using the cardboard from the shredder box. 5 out 10 beds rehomed now as DS has repurposed one for a project. At least he was outside today! 😊
Came home, cooked dinner (joint effort with DH), then cooked rhubarb crumble with some home grown rhubarb. And that's about it! Oh, and I put on 1 load of washing which is now dry, folded & put away.
YL I'm glad DS has seen sense, for now. Round you have been quiet today, I hope you are ok x
Ok - sleep beckons. Night night all!9 -
Morning all. Hope you're all ok.
Not a lot of flying getting done here, a bit of pottering and gardening and the daily exercise with the dogs. Council work still ongoing and extremely infuriating.
DH had a meltdown yesterday which is not like him at all. Feels like a lamb to the slaughter when people are still going shopping when they know full well they shouldn't. Having almost died last year, he doesn't fancy his chances if he gets this virus. What makes it worse is that there are volunteers and support groups to help these people out if they're genuinely stranded, and for those who think it's ok to pop in for lottery tickets or a packet of sweets, there are no words.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Morning all,
I didn’t post yesterday, not sure why. I kept meaning to, but got distracted somehow.I spent a couple of hours at the allotment in very warm sunshine, digging out the weeds that are rampaging across the plot. I planted some seeds at home in the afternoon. I am hoping that I did more than that all day, but it’s looking unlikely. Oh - one load of washing and HHI.
Most importantly, the cheese stocks are replenished! I didn’t even have to leave the house, as NDN kindly picked up a tasty supply from the farm shop for me.DH has lost a distant work colleague to The Virus. But I am just a little bit proud of him, as he has worked out something for work that means protective gear can be made, and quickly.Today I am going to try to leave shortly for yet more digging and weeding, then I will think about what the rest of the day might bring.
Take care all. Hugs to you all. X9 -
Morning all,
I spent yesterday afternoon reading in the garden, it was lovely, would like to finish my book tidy all being well. So far I have emptied the DW, mopped the hall floor and am now enjoying a cuppa. Will walk the dog shortly. There is x1 WM run to do, and we are eating from the freezer/stores today.Have super Saturdays all xx ps YL I too am glad DS has seen sense, it seems to me that the 'novelty' of lockdown has worn off for a lot of people and they think the can do as they please x10 -
Good morning 😁
I need to get dressed and then pop to the shop for milk & bread, as we have run out! I will then have some breakfast and make a little list. It will probably mainly consist of outdoor jobs....
Have a good day everyone!9 -
Change of plan in Fayolle land. DH has been hunter gatherer at the village shop for milk, bread and some small eggs to decorate a cake. I have cleaned out the wm drawer and put on a load, including my allotment gear. So today will be spent doing some back garden jobs and possibly a token effort indoors. LR and DR dusted as a start.Round - are you ok, my lovely? We need you here to keep us going through the weekend x9

Morning xx
I'm here Goodi xx Fayolle xx I could lie and say I'm fine - but I've just deleted that line! (Ooo poetry!) I didn't know what was wrong with me yesterday - I just fell out with myself! But it's my old companion, BD, nipping at my ankles. How on earth does anyone know how to 'be' when the world, when the world, well, what has the world done? I don't even have the words to describe what is going on in the world. And you know what's really annoying? (I'm making this about me now) was I had just got in to a routine of three days at home, four days at work, Work was good, no more MM, I looked forward to going, and the house was finally coming together with that extra day at home to fly. Then I took Annual Leave, and was ill for two weeks - felt so ill at one point that when I felt a little better I told DS where there is money in the house, how to access the money in the bank, and that the rent is paid for six weeks in front in case I died and he needed to know these things. And while I was ill, and not looking, the world turned upside down. So I am not fine, I'm angry. Angry that people are dying in their thousands all over the world. Angry that I'm not coping better. Angry that I can't transition without a meltdown of some sort. Angry that people won't follow the rules and stay at home. Angry that I put a box of books at the gate and no-one took one to read - although maybe Nelson Mandela's Long Walk to Freedom, Brian Keenan's autobiography of his time held as a hostage, and 'Pause(before the world makes you)' weren't the best books to put out. Oh good, I've made myself laughBD won't like that,
Reasons to be cheerful:
I have a house to keep me safe, warm, and dry
I have clean water to drink
I have food to eat
I have clothes to wear
I have family and friends who love me and I love them
Colours, flowers, birds, bumble bees, clouds, bubbles, dandelion clocks, books, music.
I am alive.
I bet you wish you'd never asked.
Round 1 =
get weighed
get washed and dressed
breakfast
Let's go easy on me
Love Rxx
Well I don't know about you, but I feel better now. Thank you xxxxx

Round, you made me laugh. You probably need some lighter reading material! Tomorrow DH and I are having a no device day with the exception of Sunday morning love songs on radio 2 and will switch off when the news comes on at ten.
So far today I have done the dailies, run an errand for a vulnerable person, dusted dusty bits in living room, cooked the turkey which was going to be for a big family gathering tomorrow (will now be portioned and frozen) and cut the grass back and front. I'm saving the dog walk for later.Spend less now, work less later.11
