YL.. Sounds like the GF AND her mother need a punch in the head!! Given the fragility of DS I would tell t'other DS if he goes he cannot come back until all this is over.. no hopping between houses every other week, if he does it once he will think it is ok to do it again.. he has already done 2 weeks in his room as a precaution to protect his brother.. and if said GF has any concern for either DS or his brother she woudn't be being such a selfish winnie, she is being incredibly childish! my daughter hasn't seen her bf for 3 weeks now.. I haven't seen the grand beasties.. I probably won't get to see my new grandbaby when the time arrives.. it is just how everyone is living at the moment as you know.. The motorways have police stopping cars asking where people are going and turning them around if they don't have a work related reason to be driving. The could wind up with a fine if she insists on driving that stupid distance. I'd probably ring them to drop her in it if I'm honest.. The police are stopping people leaving here.. only one main road out really... OH was stopped today picking up some old planters from work.. they were outside, he didn't even go in the building or see anyone. If she ends the relationship over this then it shows how little respect she has for your son or family and would he really want that as a forever relationship?? I'd be spitting feathers too!! (I am, on your and his behalf!) ((((hugs))))
Iona.. wonderful news re P.. DS1's boss still extremely unwell in hosital..It isn't looking good for him tbh. DS1 is fine now as are my little cousins thank goodness.
OH sent to do 5 rounds of Tesco.. because they are utterly moronic.
Neighbours have been issued a fine EVENTUALLY for fly tipping!! Now to deal with the second one!
Bit chilly and glum here today after how lovely it was yesterday.. I need to do a washing switch on the line and get the table cleared in the kitchen.
DW needs to go on
Tax credits have gone in today FINALLY!!!!! So I have got my phone bill and both credit cards paid, priorities! .. Once those payments have cleared I can use the cards to pay a couple of other bills and then I have the loan to pay (5 payments left) and holiday payment to make (£500) then I can look at other bills/payments missed.. it's booked for August so we are going to pay it and if/when it gets cancelled we will rebook it for next summer and book a couple of nights away later this year.

Tesco are utter morons... Only allowing use of those pathetic tiny trolleys... I have 10 people to feed... it is full before 1/4 of the list is done.. we've not done a decent shop for 2 months..so the list is entirely basic stuff.. bar the crisps for DD1 and easter eggs from MiL .. she sent the money ... I'm utterly furious... exposing my husband..so my vulnerable people to 4 or 5 times as many peoples filth and plagues because OH will have to go round the shop 4-5 times to get everything rather than do it all in one go... it is utter hysterical, ignorant lunacy... !!!!!! difference does it make how much he shoves ina trolley? Surely it is about minimising contact.. he shouldn't even be shopping as it is only 10 days since DS1 exposed us to his plague germs.
I'm utterly raging.. I would have argued it down and name dropped until I got my way.. he just says ok and does as he is told.. I however can't push a big naffing trolley!
This hysteria is going too far.. it is illogical and causing greater exposure rather than minimising risks.. gggrrrrr
ETA... sane person on the trolleys gave him a big one after looking at the list!

Flylady GWS vibes to pigpen's DS1's boss xx Glad to hear that DS1 and your little cousins have recovered
xx
Fayolle - I'm intrigued - what do you put in an excuse for a sandwich? Or is it just bread and butter and that's why it's an excuse for a sandwich? Plus - I have two hands - I'm gripping YL with one, but I'm happy to grab you with the otherBlimey, I can feel the flylady power going through me already! Powerful stuff.
Par$ley Box have delivered my package - that's 10 meals for DS put away in the cupboard. They aren't very big but I'll add potatoes and veggies to bulk them up. I've managed to send a birthday card to an old schoolfriend who will be 60 next week - without leaving my armchair. Get me with my new techno-skills
I'm leaving the rest of the single bedding sets to wash tomorrow - when the forecast is warmer. I've put on the heating - definite damp chill in the air here today.

Been and collected my shopping and went in to the supermarket, not too busy. Got everything I needed except stainless steel scouring pad (I don't understand). My preferred wine was not in stock nor anything similar so we have a varied selection for the next couple of weeks. I'm sure it will be fine after the first glass, and any wine is better than no wine in this house. I'm with Fayolle, we run on wine and cheese!
Shopping all put away and I've had a quick shower so now enjoying a cup of tea in the sun.
That's me done for the day10 -
Evening all
I have been awol again, dailies and laundry have been kept up with but that’s about all. 4 day weekend now so I will try and catch up with the lists. Fully intending on spending some time in the garden too providing this weather holds!Hugs etc to all. Back tomorrow x11 -
Good evening 😁
I spent an hour at the allotment and took one more piece of raised bed & 2 trugs of soil (3 of 10 pieces now moved). I have now run out of cardboard, and there are no more wood chips available 🙁 I may have to do some actual digging 😭
At home I finally got round to sowing some seeds. I will do more tomorrow, and hopefully I'm not too far behind. I also FU&PA the washing from the line & cooked dinner.
It was WI night tonight, so we had a virtual meeting on fb after the clap for carers. We had a cooking demo by our president - spiced apple muffins. Quite a few of us cooked along, and they all looked pretty good. We also had a quiz and some laughs. I cleaned up as I went along. DH & DS tested the muffins, and then had another one each, so I take that as a success! DW loaded and I am now in bed.
Night night all - I hope the wide awake club get a good night's sleep x8 -
I've been busy trashing the house. Well, after I've cleaned the kitchen so it sparkles each morning, only to find it absolutely filthy after Himself has cooked, I figured it was about time I made some mess. Especially as he looked irritated that I was in the kitchen cooking for a change last night - apparently insisting upon the kitchen being clean and uncluttered before I cook, cleaning it in ten minutes, pulling faces at the utter state of my expensive knives and sharpening them quickly, then cooking things without depending upon having a TV programme on a mobile device which makes a twenty minute cooking job take at least three hours long and result in something largely inedible and then cleaning up as I go along, is 'rushing about and stressful'. Yes, Dear. So is opening the cupboard door and finding out that you've piled up different sized plates and bowls together when I only stacked them neatly that morning (like most mornings) and don't really fancy having them all fall out on my head.
So I repotted some herbs, an accidental Avocado Tree (accidental as in I never expected the thing to grow when dumped at the back of the kitchen windowsill and it just won't stop being a mini - or not quite so mini now, as it's over two foot tall - tree and I don't have the heart to bin it) and a sorry looking Elephant Ears that was down to it's last two leaves. In the living room. On the floor. Which meant that, after a perfunctory sweep, the floor needed a proper vacuum. Himself did it when he emerged. After I cleaned up the catbarf that had been deposited on the one fitted carpet in the house. Furry gitbag. Naturally, himself wouldn't have heard a thing and couldn't possibly have ignored it in the hope I'd find it first...
He then had to 'recover' by shutting himself up to record some guitar. So when he came down, I'd marinaded some chicken in about a million herbs and spices, washed some rice, cut up some salady things and was ready to cook. He scuttled off to the shops for twenty minutes. He was visibly shocked that it was ready as he came back, complete with Sriracha Mayonnaise. I resisted the urge to point out that cooking doesn't have to take three hours, especially if you start from clean, clean up as you go, time things so that they cook together rather than do one thing after another and don't get distracted constantly by screens so everything is burned, cold or has been microwaved four times and tastes of nothing . Didn't stop him eating loads for a change, though, which is how I know it was really good.
The only irritation is that, having been unable to have my last two medication injections thanks to the Plague, my hands have started hurting and I struggled with dexterity. Not that I'm telling him that, he'd just take it as proof I need to stay out of the kitchen and leave it to him. I couldn't work the tongs at all, so cooked with chopsticks - but even they made my hand hurt; I need children's chopsticks with the little spring in them, just much larger, as it's the only hand movement I have much control over right now. Going to have my injection in a minute though, as my chest feels clear for the first time in weeks - hopefully that will help stop the hand pain and weakness in its tracks.
Thinking about doing a bit more of a clean up upstairs tomorrow. He's been threatening to clean the insides of the windows for over a week now - maybe it's time for him to actually do it.
Oooh, I've been inside other than for twenty minutes last week, for over a fortnight. And I haven't murdered him, the Idiot Cat or anybody else. This is doable - but I think part of that is due to having already been ill; if I were still worried about catching it, I think I'd be far, far worse mentally. Having plants to fuss over and cats to brush has helped - the cats can't believe their luck with company and brushes; they're both gleaming as though they've been polished. And sunshine. Proper, bright daylight and fresh air coming in has helped loads.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll10 -
Holding out hands if anyone wants to grab any.
Well, confession time, the only bit of the bathroom I tackled was that Mr N and I took everything out of the cupboard, threw a few dated medicines etc out/into a pile to be taken to pharmacy. It was a much needed job and now things won't fall on my head every day as I open the doors to pick up cleanser; however I had planned to do the whole ensuite not just the cupboard! My carrier bag of contact lens packaging (I wear daily disposables) is now full - normally I take it to B00ts as they recycle them.
Spend most of the day in the garden as it was lovely here. Dug the other big veg bed. Most of what I was evicting was foxgloves and forget-me-not, so I put them on the village FB. What a response! I put them in bags on the front drive and several people immediately took their exercise to collect them, plus I have 4 on a waiting list if I dig up any more (very likely as they are like weeds in our garden). Sowed broad beans. Sowed a few annual flower seeds. Watered greenhouse.
Looked out polenta/alternative flour recipes for an Easter cake to make tomorrow, am determined to make one but am clinging on to my remaining gf flour, it may be a long time before I can source any.
Checked with local pub, who are doing a ready meal delivery service as we thought it may be nice for a change/treat/Easter/birthday. Sadly their chicken curry, which I figured was the only possible non-wheat food, contains potato.
Did quite a bit more of spreadsheet for tax return.
Spoke to my Mum on the phone.
Had a phone chat with dog-owning friend, dog had been out earlier and was now sleeping in the sun so I just chatted to friend.
Messaged step-sis for her birthday.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -
Morning all
still waking up at work time *sigh* but DS has gone to work so I have stripped his duvet cover and pillow cases and flung them in the WM along with similarly-coloured items. Checked fuse on DW - it's not that - well I tried two as you can't tell with fuses and I do save a few. Might check fuse box today.
Fence looks awesome. Feet still protesting (well ankles) so have popped some parrots with caffeine. (Not typing brand).
Today I need to iron and tidy kitchen. And a house wide bin bag dance would be good.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear9 -
