Hope Natty is feeling better today xx
Many thanks for all GWS wishes for my friend P. Her daughter texted me this morning to say that P was now coherent for the first time in a week and not on a ventilator, and that P had sent her a short text, so I sent a very brief message to P and have received a
in reply
This morning I
- was woken by Rosie at 4.00; let her out, made myself a cuppa, and went back to bed, but got up and put the computer on at 5.00 because i wasn't sleepy any more. Did some of my friend S's family history, but deciphering old handwriting on censuses in artificial light gave me a headache, so as the sun rose and round emerged from her cocoon, I went back to bed and slept again until 8.30
- dusted and hoovered all through downstairs and emptied half a dog out of the cylinder (meanwhile Rosie was safe in the garden, sunbathing!)
- cleaned DH's ensuite in return for him threading the rambling rose and wisteria in and out of the new rose arches by the front gate
- put all the towels and DH's bath mat in to wash
- sent emails, caught up on FB
- FUPA some of yesterday's washing; the rest is airing
- emptied the paper bin from my study which I had missed last night; fortunately the recycling lorry comes pm
- tarted up leftover leek'n'potato soup with cheese and ham for lunch; I might try galettes next week, Mademoiselle - I've certainly got buckwheat, though not sure about the flour, so I might have to repurpose the nut grinder and mill my own!
Now returning to family history for an hour or so, then I'll make phonecalls until the sun gets past the left-hand curtain behind my desk and it will be time for Rosie's walk. She's back indoors, by the way, snoozing behind my chair. It's a dog's life!
Take care everyone, and stay safe xx

Second mask has been made, this time using a different pattern and it is more comfortable.
Lunch eaten and cleared away.
Drive shop ordered (click and collect) and I will pick it up tomorrow (very easy as you park open the boot get back in the car and they load the car and shut the boot and off you go). Sadly will have to go into shop too as there were a few things that weren't available but at least I only have to pick up a few bits and bobs and nothing heavy.

Off to prepare potato dauphinois for tonights dinner, we have some cold meats left over that need using up and some nice tomatoes that can go as a salad.

I was distracted from my list.....
But I have WULTD, put on DW, s&s kitchen, folded 1 lot of washing from the line and washed up seed trays, modules, etc. ready for sowing. They are drying in the sun. Oh, and i washed down the old patio table ready for planting too. Not too bad. Just having another cuppa before getting in the bedding & hopefully sowing some seeds at last!!
I have also spoken to DD1 & my mum. DD1 has just let her cats out for the 1st time since moving in. Fingers crossed that they don't go walkabout! It has been 2 weeks today.12 -
Are you hoping to grow a full set of chairs?Goodintentions said:I have ... washed up seed trays, modules, etc. ready for sowing. They are drying in the sun. Oh, and i washed down the old patio table ready for planting too.
It is a beautiful day here and for the first time I have gone out with Rosie without taking any sort of jacket or thick jumper. The towels are nearly dry after only an hour on the line, and all my veg in pots need watering.
Cant't get a fruit and veg delivery from the greengrocer until Thursday 16th, so I will have to brave the local shop or even MrW first thing tomorrow morning.
No more updates on my friend P so I am hoping that no news is good news.
Off to do some baking and cook our tea...
ETA to add GOOD NEWS: P is out of intensive care and back on a ward, still on oxygen and drips, still not out of the woods, but heading in the right direction. Thank you Flyfriends for all your thoughts and prayers xx11 -
I managed to nip to Wilkos and got my fence paint. They're closing earlier; went within an hour of closing time - very quiet. Picked up shopping en route home and have made spag bol for tea. Again.
Handwashed my christmas jumper and washed make up brushes. So they've been drying in the sunshine.

Hello everybody, hope all of you have had a good day 😊 Glad to hear your friend is on the mend Ionafan 💖
This is what I managed today:
Wednesday - Living pit, hallway, stairs!!
Level One...
[✔] Declutter the floors!
[✔] Vacuum/mop floors & stairs!
Level Two...
[✔] Vacuum under the furniture you can safely move!
Bonus activity :
Scrubbed the carpet where our elderly cat had had an accident 😣
Polished our old rocking chair with a special polish which includes some wood stain so it looks a little more...handsome..now. Still battered around the edges but it belonged to my husbands grandparents so we are fine with it still showing 'wear' it just looks a little less 'worn'.
Also swish and swiped the kitchen and did a load of washing. Emptied DW and began filling ready for set off tomorrow/tonight.* £1000 Emergency Fund £65.00 / £1000
* £1 a day for Christmas 2024 £5.74 / £36611 -
Anxiety through the roof today and I can't settle to anything. Hoping for a better day tomorrow x11

Glad about your friend Ionofan .
Thank you all for your lovely comments re the flower wreath, I assure you there is barely any skill involved; I just stick 'em in!
Managed a run this morning, didn't get up as early as I'd planned so had to make it a bit short but I did run faster than usual to make up for it.
Had a Zoom meeting with another assessor colleague, we're both learning how to use it for sharing and annotating documents etc and got on ok. She's a good friend too.
Wrote letter to a friend to put in her Easter card. Wrote DB and SIL's cards (birthday and anniversary). 20th wedding anniversary is china apparently but I told them I wasn't getting them any as we've had enough from China for the time being! But on that note, great to see how China is gradually returning to normal. Posted cards (oops illegal second trip out, having run earlier).Wednesday - Living pit, hallway, stairs!!
Level One...
Declutter the floors!
Vacuum/mop floors & stairs!ran feather duster over various ledges, corners, picture rail.
Level Two...
dust over all the electrical appliances.. be careful though I don't want any accidents!
Vacuum under the furniture you can safely move!
Level Three...
Dust mantle and polish any display cabinets or bookshelves etc
One load through DW and put filter in hot soapy water to clean. Yuk.Did a bit of 'other' washing up.
Watered seeds, sowed a few more.
Downloaded bank statements in preparation for tackling tax return.
Can't remember what else I've done, if indeed there was anything. Oh forgot the MOST EXCITING that last night, twenty past midnight, I secured a Mr T delivery. 28th April.......... I was looking for a c&c as I don't want to deprive a less able/mobile person from a delivery slot, but this time no c&c available but plenty of deliveries for 28th.
Now going down to make a pizza.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
iona.. excellent news.. i hope she now has a swift recovery.
DS1 is coughing still but whining he is bored so clearly is fine. Fabian had a cough for a couple of days and a minor temp for 24 hours. DS1's boss is on his 3rd week in hospital.. he's not doing too well apparently. He has other health concerns so it is a worry.
The outlaws are all bored but well.washing all clean and one white load to do now but we have done a big garden reshuffle/clean and power washed the kittens area. The chicken wire came today so OH can get that dome tomorrow.I have posted an ebay parcel and done some bedroom tidying.. clothes all away and ebay stuff merged so one box less. Ionafan - great news about your friend
Narco - wow, you are so talented!!
Asparkyblonde - hope you're feeling better tomorrow xx
Didn't keep to flylady plan today but did clean kitchen (again), baked cake and took some to my mum and a client as they both loved the last one, online pilates, walked dog and piano and guitar practise. I'm enjoying having time to practise often rather than trying to fit it in.
DS's girlfriend's birthday tomorrow and he's got clips of all their friends and put it together for her. They're going to watch a film 'together' and then cook a meal 'together' via skype. Sometimes my children drive me so so so so so so so crazy but I'm actually quite teary over the thought he's put into her birthday.
Keep well everyone...another day closer to 'normality' xx11
