‘If you have doubts about the identity of the person
By why should they have doubts in this case. IMO, such doubts are unreasonable.
I don’t even know what to say anymore
When you think of something tell it to the judge and ask for unreasonable behaviour costs. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
You must now make that formal complaint to the ICO. Copy all the correspondence to them. You have gone beyond any measure of 'proportionality' in supplying what you already have. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I am making a formal complaint now. Looks like I have to write a defence without knowing anything about the PCN0

Yep, but thats fine because a SAR wouldnt have been responded to in time ANYWAY. You know this, from a simple examination of the timescales....
Tell them that, as they have no reason to dou bt your identity - the copy of the court claim form is sufficient proof of identity - you require them to answer why photographic ID is required, given they have no photograpgh of you to compare it against
As they are stating it is proportional, theire reason for requrinig this data must be reaosnable - so you require them to state such a reason, and how *specifically* photographic ID helps.
This is of course simply further information for the complaint made to the ICO, and the claim you will make against them for breach of the DPA2018.5 -
LOL at "your name and e-mail address are not the same". Where is it stated that you need to use your real name in an e-mail address? That isn't common practice at all. Someone I knew had the words "Satans Panties" in their e-mail address. Even mine only has a shortened version of my first name and a few random numbers. This suffices for banks, loans and everything else.If you've showed the letter THEY SENT YOU, as well as a matching proof of address for the same name, that should be more than enough and certainly no reason to suspect you're not the same. Sounds like they're playing with you and mis-using the GDPR terms to gather additional data. Big no-no with GDPR.Wreck their faces. Most companies are tip-toe'ing around GDPR and treating it like a land mine field. These guys will soon learn the same if they keep playing those games.nosferatu1001 said:you require them to answer why photographic ID is required, given they have no photograpgh of you to compare it against. They can't answer "for processing the claim" as they don't need your picture. They can't answer for I.D verification, due to the aformentioned.. GDPR reasoably data storage requirements relate to SPECIFIC attributes of data, not just per person. Heh.6
