Thanks everyone. I spoke to 2 people on live chat as got cut off from first one and uploaded the photo of parcel with sellotape and altered label.Ebay just messaged saying that they are asking buyer for additional information ( receipt from post office showing address sent to) . So still not trusting ebay but at least they haven’t just automatically refunded him.I really wish PayPal were available as I have found PayPal to back me up many times when ebay rarely ever have . Maybe they could have blocked the refundIf you don’t like a thread or post just move on by.

If you complete the report with Action Fraud you'll be able to quote the report reference number to Ebay, I'm sure that will also help your case. If nothing else it'll show how seriously you're taking this.Best of luck!1

For future reference and anyone else.
If you contact your local RM delivery office (Excluding this present situation) then they should have GPS which is accurate enough to show the delivery address on residential streets. It can be patchy in poor mobile network areas)
Always do this as soon as possible as RM dont hold the GPs data for long, usually around 7 days. Once its gone its gone.2 -

I won! Yay, justice prevailed . Ebay found in my favour . Again I’m still always worried that the scammer may challenge outcome and ebay side with him but he’s been very quiet since I sent him a message saying I knew what he has done and showed photo of parcel he sent to woman in my road. I also told him that I’m sure it would be easy enough to find cctv footage in post office of him as I know exact time that he posted item And what post office it was. Thanks for all advice.
So if you are being scammed this way and this happens to anyone else, the minute ebay says you have received the parcel ( and if you haven’t ) ask your postman, if you see him, straight away and if not knock on all the doors down your street with same postcode as you ( they may even post to someone with different postcode ) or go on Facebook and ask if anyone has had anything strange delivered that day. Royal Mail said wait 24 hours before ringing them and they can check area it was delivered as they have gps, which they did so I knew it was nearby.
You only have two days from “delivery’ so you have to act quickly or they can get ebay to refund if you don’t do something quickly . I said buyer returned something different as was closest option available. Send as many photos as you can to ebay showing proof and insist that eBay ask for proof of posting receipt from buyer as you believe it’s a scam and they have changed label and posted elsewhere to show delivered . Check ebay name and paypal name are the same ( this may help if you are being scammed - mine had two completely different names) . Did they use a shop to get it delivered to? Another red flag .
Also I did as recommended above and reported it to online fraud and gave ebay crime number ( this alone won’t make you win as I’ve discovered before)
And as soolin said actually ring or live chat with ebay about it as this may help as you get listened to about what has happened and be polite to them - I’ve found this always helps - PayPal gave me £10 once just for being polite and nice when I rung
I really hope it doesn’t happen to anyone else as it’s been so stressful but if it does at least you have some clues on how this scam works.
Thanks so much for all the advice and help and for someone confirming early on how this scam worked as that helped too.
hope you all stay safe and well in this awful time too xIf you don’t like a thread or post just move on by.

Nice one, congratulations. Great to hear you had a positive outcome and thanks for sharing your experience.Just a shame the sc*mbag has got away and could try it again on someone else. It's a shame the Police are so busy otherwise they could follow up fraud like this.I assume Ebay have deleted his account? All the best.1

Leaving a problem buyer is a very bad idea, why reward them with a green positive dot? If your comments were negative and buyer complains then the comments will be removed and you will get a warning on your account.Moogles44 said:
