I'm not sure if I've done this right. I did claim last year on the site and I received a new tax code but that was it. I've just been through the site again now and it's just completed saying we'll send you a new tax code. I've not gone through the P87 as far as I'm aware and keep hearing stories of people getting up to £320 back so not sure if I've missed something.0

I think you are confusing the amount of expenses (£312) with the tax relief you get from claiming the £312 expenses.
Most people will get £62.40 tax reduction (£312 x 20%). Some will get £0, a few will get £124.80 and a tiny number could benefit by £187..0 -
HiI moved to a new flat at the beginning of the pandemic so essentially the 1st of March 2020.I am sharing the house and due to this move, my expenses dropped slightly even knowing I am WFH since 10 March 2020.Anyways if I would be working from the office my expenses would have dropped further I am fully sure...Would I still be able to claim for 2020/2021?Also, I was abroad from 15 October 2020 to 15 March 2020 would I be able to claim during this period? I was always working and paying taxes in the UK.The same applies for this year 2020/2021 as I have no way to compare if my expenses increased since the start of the pandemic can I claim for 2021/2022 year (I am currently WFH and until 1st of October it will be the same according to the company I am working for)??Thanks0

My daughter was made redundant 31st March 2021. For tax year ending 5th April 2021 can she claim for 52 weeks WFH or only 51 weeks? Thank you0

Nothing to lose but the price of a stamp, some ink, electricity and some paper.glider3560 said:Yes. Self Assessment is nearly all fully automated if you file online, so you can see the deduction on the calculation screen.
If you put it in the wrong box, and your tax return is one of the few that get audited by a human, then they'll just move it to the correct box if you've explained what it is for and inserted the correct amount.
STILL haven't heard back about my P87 for working from home charges for both 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 tax years. Submitted a complaint to HMRC in March 2021 and I'm still waiting.

Did the tax code on your payslips change at any point during the 2020:21 tax year?
Have you used your Personal Tax Account to check the progress of your P87 form?1 -
If you clicked "show previous quotes" you'll see that I said "I didn't sign up to the government gateway, nor do I want to."My tax code hasn't changed during the year. I am sure they owe me a refund by cheque, but perhaps they are ignoring me long enought to force me to sign up for a Personal Tax Account. I shouldn't have to do that.0

The HMRC scumbags are one step closer to forcing me to register for a personal tax account. Still haven't heard anything back from my complaints. Absolute disgrace.
