I might do pancakes tonight - I did buy eggs to make sure we had some in case we decided to, but with himself being at rugby training last night it didn't really work! If I do it will absolutely be lemon and sugar too!
I have ham, egg and wedges on the plan for tonight - using more of the 5p potatoes! I think I'll still have sufficient left that there won't be any benefit to using the free veg item from Lil's on tatties this time though. Might add a spoonful of baked beans each as the balance of the tin can get used with jacket potatoes tomorrow evening.

I bought some liver the other day to make faggots but only needed half of the pack so we're having liver, bacon, onions and mash for dinner tonight. Not had that for ages.

@Suffolk_lass - 🤣🤣🤣 - 15? - not a chance - waitflower's loved up promotion was 25 for a starter, main, side, dessert & side - the whole meal is heavy on the refined carbs and low on the fresh produce and fibre - honestly I could root around in our home stores and produce a better meal for under 10!
So original plan for our loved up day was heart shaped pasta, meatballs and sauce - but neither of us actually fancy that! Instead we had a mcd's breakfast as our treat followed by some fruit. Lunch was sourdough toast with avo, ham, the last of the bacon and a slice of roast pork - sounds weird but it was really tasty and used up the ends of everything. Dinner was smashburgers in the oven because afore mentioned meal deal is truly ridiculous and for around a fiver we were both fed!
@EssexHebredian - you are absolutely correct - while keeping the calories up is a struggle for OH and yes we resort to some úpf-food rather than no food - I still attempt to default to real whole food whenever possible - I do love a blu-riband bar though - who knew they were so moreish!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Blimey. Both Morries (£15) and Sainsbugs (£18) were offering gratinated scallops starter, steak main with a side (medley of veg/ lots of potato options) lots of different rich desserts and a drink (bottle of prosecco or 4 orig coke bottles, eg). Did without though!

I did cast an eye over the meal deals but didn't see anything that I felt was worth the money for us, at least.
Last night's tea was exactly as planned, and very tasty it was too. there is still a good chunk of the ham left - some of it is going to be used to top jacket potatoes tonight along with cheese and the rest of the tin of baked beans, and I'll be factoring the balance in to something for tomorrow evening.

We've done well this week with sticking to what was planned focusing on what we had in the house - Sunday we had keilbasa with cabbage/onions/mushrooms - browned on the stovetop and finished off in the oven. Sides were steamed potatos & beets with a side of sauekraut. I didn't realize that the recipe would make so many portions so we had it again last night. Monday was half-price takeaway after a long day combined with delays on the commute but we had our chippy tea from the stores on Tuesday - we've defaulted to the posh chips which to my taste are better than the ones from the chip shop! (I know that is sacrilege but honestly I prefer them!) So all in all easy on the pocket so far.

Best chips I've found for home cooking are the Lil's/Al's posh brand ones - they're SO good!

My faves are Mcc@in's but then again - I know some of the extended family who own the company as they have a multi-generational connection with the University I went to back across the pond! So I have a huge bias 🤣🤣🤣
OH agreed that he too feels there have been too many chips in our house and was rather pleased when I made 'cheater's' kebabs yesterday without a chip in sight! We bought ready made frozen seekh kebabs (available on sale due to the time of year) cooked them up in the oven, put them in lebanese flat breads with a dollop of icelandic skyr and sliced up tomotoes/cucumbers/redonions. So much fresher than the store bought ones and they worked out to approx 1.75 a (huge) portion!
I was supposed to go with a work mate for an iftar meal today, but as he is sporting a cold and OH is venerable, we have rescheduled, so I feel it will be freezer dive this evening as i have zero energy to devote to cooking!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Am desperately trying to eat up food before going to France on Thursday. I nearly bought an avocado yesterday. I’m drowning in food, don’t know what I was thinking. Going to look at the February grocery thread for some budget inspiration.

Using up some cold lamb neck chops today - I roasted them with a large lamb shank on Sunday. Having them cold with Jacket potato and pickles, and a few bits of salad.
I really don't feel like cooking, or eating. Still full of cold really! Yuk
