Retrieved two gargantuan portions of moussaka from the freezer yesterday that were exchanged for a smaller pot of chilli (and the processed seville oranges that are not made into marmalade yet). We eat the last of the chilli last night and I'm waiting for "market surprise fish" to find out what we are having tonight (that moussaka tomorrow). DH has been gone since 08.45 - obviously more crowded than normal. It would be more helpful if it opened at 08.00 instead of 09.00Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £10,020.92 out of £6000 after September

We,re coming to the end of the Seville Orange season now. It,s a fairly short one. Worth emailing nearby friends to ask them to get some for you if they spot them. They can be frozen if necessary if can't be used immediately but best to wrap each one individually in clingfilm to prevent them being frosted. They actually slice up.more easily after thawing than the crest ones. We found this year,s crop excellent.7

Tidied the indoor freezer today. Result is loads of tomatoes from freezer (and some squishy ones from fridge) made into tomato and bacon soup with 1 lump of stock also from freezer (only 18 more left.....) Ate 2/3 of the soup for lunch today.
Dinner tonight will be lamb koftas using some lamb mince and the last of some pomegranate molasses. Was going to make flatbreads to go with them but we have 7 packs in the freezer, so will use some of those instead (not as nice as hm but I need the space!) Will also use some 0li0 salad with them

If you miss out on seville oranges, you could resort to a tin of Ma Made prepared seville oranges - I have done so in the past when I missed out and they are fine in a pinch. Asbo and Waitflower used to do them (have not checked in recent years) but I just checked and they do still make itpurpleybat said:

We had fresh salmon fillets yesterday (about double the size I usually get! because DH either does not specify or specifies too big!) - anyway for a change I made a seasoned flour, an egg wash and opened a sealed pack of (BBE2017) panko breadcrumbs. Had them oven baked on foil with sweet potato baked slices (a cross between crisps and wedges) and frozen veg - spinach, corn and peas. What a treat, but about 1/3rd of my weekly shopping bill went on theseSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £10,020.92 out of £6000 after September
