I earn with commission £40k yet they only consider £20k basic at 80% so how can I go from £2500 take home to £1100!!!!! It's not right why arent they including commission????

I am hoping that for people with a solid track record of earnings then that could be taken in to account via the variable calculation based on previous years' pay or the pay for the same month last year.
The guidelines are not yet complete however the rules are currently clear that commission and bonuses do not count.
With some luck the restrictions and scheme may only last 3-4 months and then you will be back in business. The key point is you hopefully have job security and will rebound again after the scheme is finished.
I don't think you can claim it is a joke if you get to keep your job and at least some kind of minimum wage while you are unable to work.2 -
It seems unfair that it doesnt include commision when 50% of job is that. Hopefully they change the rules0

It's not right why arent they including commission????Because those are the rules of the scheme. After 4 weeks on furlough you can resign and get redundancy pay. You can then look for a job elsewhere.

- All land is owned. If you are not on yours, you are on someone else's
- When on someone else's be it a road, a pavement, a right of way or a property there are rules. Don't assume there are none.
- "Free parking" doesn't mean free of rules. Check the rules and if you don't like them, go elsewhere
- All land is owned. If you are not on yours, you are on someone else's and their rules apply.

It's not right why arent they including commission????It's "right" because the Government sets the rules, so it's that or nothing. They didn't have to give anyone anything, so no point complaining.1

I think you must realise that being on commission over and above NMW then you are vulnerable to all kinds of economic fluctuations.
I don't want to tell you to suck eggs but please focus on what you have. I've been posting here for a week or two and have insight to a lot of people's different situations. I can assure you there are people that have ended up in a seriously bad situation through no fault of their own. Far worse than your own.
The government's intention here is not to fund our incomes while we hibernate. It's there to keep people losing their jobs and hopefully pay as much as is reasonable for them to survive on a basic income while the whole world recovers.
If you are in a position to do so (eg: if you are able bodied and aren't caring for or sheilding someone sick etc) then I would implore you to consider how you can adapt to bridge the gap in your income while you are off work. There may be great ways you can get involved in your local community and provide some real help.
There also might not, I do not want to make assumptions about you, but I think the government has ingeniously balanced this scheme to incentivise people to find ways to adapt in a positive way.2 -

Just a few months ago this sort of attitude would have been described as a benefit scrounger and told to jog on as they were the source all societies ills.
How times have changed.3 -
I am so disheartened by some of the comments regarding commission. My basic is £16400 but my OTE is £57000. I will get £1093 which then after tax that also won’t be adjusted and deductions for company car which I’m told I can’t hand back and pension I will have £200 a month to live on. I feel that the tone directed towards this is bizarre. Why are we any different to the self employed. We can prove our earnings through HMRC. I don’t know how I am going to pay my mortgage never mind feed my child.0
