Love holidays

I had a hotel only booking with Loveholidays and when I logged in to my account the only option was a credit note.  I've moved the booking (same hotel) to later in the year.  There was no option of a refund.

You possibly don't.  Credit card and insurance companies are considering credit notes to be a refund, so your other option is small claims court. That will take many month .

Has anyone has any success in contacting Love Holidays by phone or chat?  the live chat seems to be permanently off now.  
We had booked accommodation through them in Crete but I had received a message over a month ago saying that the hotel was closed for the 2020 season.  So I have booked somewhere else independently.  But I thought nothing more of it until I got a message from Love Holidays saying that they had just taken the balance payment from my account. No suggestion that the hotel is closed (I just checked - it still is).  I can't get hold of them to query this or request a refund.  Anyone else have any ideas?
