Length of Shutdown - Crystal ball stuff, but just wondered what people thought?

My take on when the PTB think it will be basically over/return to Normal time has come from the direction of two Councils at the same sort of timescale in both their minds.
When it came from the little local Council I now have seems to be thinking "by the end of July" I ignored it/put it down to wishful thinking. But I'm on the mailing list for my old City Council and I read today's email from them and they are requesting people to ask their opinion about anything scheduled up to end July. Hmmm...now I'm listening - if that's what my old city council seems to think and my new little council seems to think.
Wonder what councils across the country generally seem to be expecting? Anyone else on a city council mailing list had anything through with wording that seems to indicate their expectations are set at "by the end of July"?0 -

I think people are not realizing that post corona virus, it's going to be a totally different world in every form - one of which will be financially.
Some of us won't like it, but we won't have any choice - this is going to be the new normal

Luckily one chap had a can of beer which we passed around - most people seemed to thing if it lasted more than a week there'd be a march organised like the one against the war a few years back, so you should be able to move soon after that!
I went shopping today in the “pensioners” hour. Sainsbury’s let in about 50 people at first then it was a strict “one out, one in” policy. We queued up making sure we were 6ft apart. We carried on conversations with total strangers which was nice, no moaning about “human rights”. Sainsbury’s had plenty of stock including toilet rolls, anti bacterial hand wash and paracetamol. Thought I’d throw that in for good measure3 -
I don't think they can keep the lockdown going for that long a time because of the effects on people's health (both physical and psychological) and the economyI've seen suggestions that it will be raised in June and reimposed in November. That, to the very untrained eye, seems about right. There is also the possibility of lifting in some areas only.1

I see Boris has got in early though, just in case. Wise move.Unlike my other remark, that one wasn't flippant. I know I'm old, but I seem to remember an earlier time when Mr Johnson was espousing the idea of herd immunity, or did I dream it? Nothing to do with social media anyway. As for criticising, I worked in public service for 35 years, and while some of them weren't so bad, I never once felt we had sufficient funds. Apparently, many of those in the NHS still share that concern and a few aren't afraid to express it either.
Most people would prefer to have timely routine operations. Than money spent on equipment, trained staff and facilities that sits idle for decades.

Too many environmental and unknown variables to predict how long is going to be in place. Anyone saying a date, even approximately, is gambling.0

Alexfwalker81 said:Feeling somewhat battered and bruised today after our sale was halted thanks to the virus and the advice not to proceed. We've been on again, off again for days now. A real emotional rollercoaster. Tempted to throw the towel in, as we don't have to sell, but we'd like to. Perhaps I'll feel better in a few days.
I just wondered what people thought the length of the delay might be? I appreciate that even the politicians don't really know, so really just wanted to see what opinions were on this. To begin, I'd be estimating 3-6 weeks assuming the number of virus cases continues not to 'rise sharply' as expected. If that happens, I'd be amazed if they'd voluntarily stall the housing market much longer than 3-6 weeks. Obviously if the epidemic gets worse, then there's no reason to think that it won't extend beyond 12 weeks.
As I say, nobody knows, I just wondered what you all thought.
