Probably not, although I don’t know. That misses the point though: LNER never once offered me a voucher for some journey in the future, that I may or may not take.
100 years ago Spanish flu, the world’s last pandemic of such devastating magnitude, killed most worldwide during its third and fourth outbreaks. In our 80s, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that we might not be around before TUI repaid us.0 -

Hi - I have been lurking on this thread having had our holiday to Corfu cancelled and needing a refund as our household income may be reducing. Held my nerve and waited until we received our TUI credit refund note which arrived 3 weeks earlier than expecting yesterday. We rang more than 200 times (the mobile stops recording the number of times a single number is called after 200 tries!) over the last 24 hours - repeatedly getting through various stages and waiting on hold only to be cut off which was infuriating!! - eventually got through (though perhaps we were jammy rather than just persistence paying off?) - very polite to the poor call handler and she issued the refund promptly - it took all of 10 minutes - with receipt received by email as we were on the phone with money due on the 2 cards we paid with in 5-7 days. I definitely think that if we had not had the details of the credit refund note we wouldn't have got anywhere with our refund request ... so believe its not worth wasting your energy until you have that. It can be done, people ... don't give up hope and try to be kind to the call handler - I wouldn't want to be doing their job and a bit of politeness costs nothing. Oh and make sure the person who books the holiday is available to speak to the call handler - they need account validation to be able to proceed. Good luck!0

I had no problem getting a refund without receiving a credit refund note. When I eventually got through I was asked if I had received my refund credit note, I said that I had not but I knew that I did not need it to get a full refund. No arguments, she immediately took details of my holiday and processed the refund. She said it would take 10 days but was back on my credit card within 2 days.
The hard bit was getting through on the phone and once through I was in a queue for 53 minutes before somebody answered.[0 -
I didn't have mine, why should I wait for an unsolicited IOU! Rang on 23/4 (trip had been for 19/4), got through on 2nd attempt (made right after the first), 1hr 6mins later my £4425 refund was processed & 36 hrs later I was surprised to find it back on my C/C.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0

It would have been for a specific thing as I don't travel by train very often. A voucher would be no use to me.A lot of people are taking up TUI's offer of a refund voucher plus the 'up to' 20% bonus to book another holiday. We will probably do the same once our mid June holiday is cancelled. Not everyone is in their 80s.Not everyone has health issues. As I said earlier, you will get a refund if that's what you want.Read the posts above. People are getting refunds.
