Sainsbury's Basics biscuits, was either rich tea or digestives, went up 15p in a week, according to my mother.

Some products have lower price, others higher. I don't know what it depends of anyway. I mean nothing has changed, when the demand is high, the manufacturers take advantage of it and put a higher price. That's the rule of supply and demand, just business. Even with all the masks, there's a great demand on them and the price got bigger but anyway people buy them regardless of the price because they need them. As for me, I ordered a whole pack of KN95 masks at a great price and have no complaints.
By the way, I'm still using them?

You could stand outside shops from Friday and sell them at an inflated price. Nothing like supply and demand.  😉🤣
  • Anyone else noticed that a lot of the Linda McCartney food was basically always on offer at multiple supermarkets pre-coronavirus (e.g. the sausages were nearly always £1, burgers were also £1 a lot of the time), however post-coronavirus it's been the complete opposite and their food is never on offer?  Bit disappointing because I'm not strictly vegetarian but I try and use meat substitutes where possible and always used to use the LM sausages for hot dogs and the LM burgers for hamburgers.

Yes, I have noticed that too and I've just had to buy some at full price, which I'm not happy about. Also, there being no Moneysupermarket app means you can't easily find the best places to buy these products. There are other apps/websites, but they don't include Lidl, which sells LM food.

It's an issue with quite a few brands.  Most people are still shopping around less than they were pre-COVID, so there is more of a "captive audience" and less need for the brands to promote.  The promotions are coming back gradually but it is frustrating with examples like LM which cost vastly more at the moment.

Never found  LM stuff that good, and expensive. Supermarket brands better.

Have you tried Iceland ? They do frozen LM stuff. Having said that, reading the ingredients, I prefer real sausages to soya, methyl cellulose, rapeseed oil. dextrose, sulphites, ammonium carbonate and red iron oxide.
  • The funny thing is in Lidl and Aldi I have noticed very few price rises.
