Woo-hoo! There was (some) food in the supermarket yesterday!
And I got to leave the house for twenty minutes in the sunshine - felt like I'd run a marathon, though.
Kitchen looked a mess this morning - no change there - so I cleared off the countertop for Himself to sort-of clean it. I'll do it properly later.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll10 -
Another midnight stint but still no joy getting any supermarket delivery dates. Mr N has just been out for a cycle via the village shop and returned triumphantly with 2 carrots, a pepper, a bar of chocolate and a newspaper. We're fine till at least next week although things are beginning to run out e.g. spaghetti so the list is getting longer. I tried in vain to order any gf flour last night; usually I get boxes of 7 so I have 2 and a bit boxes left (500g in a box). None on Amaz*, 0cad0 was showing as having some but no new customers and when I went on the manufacturer's site, none of their named stockists had any. Oh well, cakes and puddings aren't essential; I'll save the stuff I have for pizzas! As it's wheat and not gluten I'm intolerant to, I can make quite a bit using oats, and I have loads of polenta left. This is the sort of time you really get to know what's left in the cupboards - even though I had a big kitchen declutter early in the year.
One load through DW. Other wudapa done.
One report checked and emailed, another started.
Made a phone call to a disabled friend who lives about 7 miles away, shared my vicar's online service link as her area doesn't currently have a vicar.
Not much else to report. Keep safe and well everyone.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Good afternoon 😁
A bit of a slow start, which is normal for a weekend tbh. Except there was no parkrun 😥
After breakfast I spent a little time in the garden, filling 2 trugs and retrieving some cardboard from the shed - only 1 piece left now! I then took them to the allotment and spent a couple of hours pottering. I managed to sow some seeds direct into a bed - lettuce, spinach, spring onions, carrots, radish and beetroot. Hoping for some salad at some point! These are the only seeds I have sown so far!!
I am back home now, having a bit of lunch. DS has emptied the DW, so I will restack that. Then I think I will have a soak in the bath & chill this afternoon. It is the weekend after all! 😊
Round I think we have all had a wobble at some point over the last couple of weeks. Mine was 2 weeks ago at a 40th birthday party and reading about France & Spain going into lockdown and looking around at people hugging and kissing cheeks, etc!! 😱 I could feel the panic rising - but I am ok now. We can do this!
Have a good day everyone x10 -
Please can I pick Flylady brains on home schooling? As you know, I teach high school and feel so useless with my two (in Years 1 and 3). DD (year 3) is quite motivated, enjoys doing her school work and will happily get stuck into whatever I put in front of her. However, DS (year 1), is really reluctant to do anything at home and gets quite grumpy when I speak to him about it. It is ironic because at school he absolutely loves learning, adores his teachers and thrives off the school setting.
Another garden session pre-shower. I have strimmed and cut the lawn, forked through some of the dug bed and removed roots and tidied on the front garden, including moving rubbish into the black bin. Done some work stuff too.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Forest walk done, hot showers had, fire on and cottage pie & HM Yorkshires in the oven. I have fruit soaking for a tea leaf and lentils soaking for a soup. We are running a bit low on fruit but have plenty of the tinned variety which we can make do with for now.
Have lovely evenings all xx8 -
asb, a friend of mine from elsewhere posted this on FB about home schooling - it looks very sensible advice to me, and I hope you find it helpful. I am convinced that many young children are in fact experiencing bereavement, having lost their structured days and the teachers/TAs they love, and are fearing that they might never see them or their classmates again, all in addition to worrying about what will happen if Mummy gets ill. It sounds to me like you have been doing a great job with your two already.
Phonecalls made and received.
WMx1 done
Everywhere that needs it S&S'd or tidied
Desk visible, though spare bed isn't clear yet
Just going out with Rosie. Brrrrrrrrrr!!!!! it's cold today!!!!!!! We enjoyed leek and potato soup for lunch and will need something warming for tea too.
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed. Stay in and stay safe and warm - and don't forget to put your clocks forward this evening xxx

I'm waiting for the much anticipated and long awaited Mr M delivery which is arriving between 4pm and 5pm.??? I've had the email to say what's missing (lots), what has been substituted (all acceptable - food is food) and what is in stock (some), No milk. No eggs. No worries - I just want him to arrive then I will quit the headless chicken prowl that I've been doing since 4pm. I'm just grateful for whatever he brings but he does have to bring it.
And breathe....ommmmmmmmmmmmmm

He's been
I saw him arrive, waited, and then I opened the door to find out why he hadn't knocked and found he was taking my groceries back up the path. 'Where are you taking my groceries?' says I. A neighbour up the road was shouting him and saying the delivery was theirs. 'Tis mine' says I. When he checked he was delivering to them next. What larks!!!!
Anyhoo the deed is done. Groceries have been put away and I am in need of an alcoholic beverage - cider it is then.
Fast forward six months sounds good to me Jazee
