Love Holidays

I have a trip booked to Majorca for the end of May.
Ive read on their website that they will not refund if the holiday is cancelled due to coronavirus as it is out of their control.
My travel insurance has already said that it won’t pay out and I’ve paid for the holiday in full
I did pay with Amex, but on their website , it says that I need to contact the merchant.
The holiday isn’t cancelled as yet but more than likely will be.
Is there anything that that I can do to get a refund ?

First off you will need to wait. Your holiday is not until May and the FCO travel advisories don’t run until your travel date (although I strongly suspect they will be updated and extended).
You can of course cancel before but normal booking conditions apply.
Given what Amex have told you I would suggest starting to gather proof and information for a claim. Take screen shots for example what LH have published on their website about them not refunding. They may of course have a different stance when May holidays are cancelled but I think worth gathering claim evidence now.
For now a waiting game. Also, give them a chance to sort out the now and immediate customers.

I’ve got a holiday booked with them to Portugal for mid April and they’ve already emailed me to say that this will no longer be going ahead. They asked I wait for a further email informing me of my options. The airline I was due to fly with, Ryanair, have already emailed me offering I change my dates with no fee. But I still have to pay any difference in price between current dates and new dates.Nether of the emails from LH or RA mentioned refunds so I was worried until doing some research and I’m well within my rights to request this. Which I intend to do. I’ve read that some travel companies are refusing refunds but that’s against the rules. I intend to claim cost back from credit card company if LH drags its heels on the refund issue.OP I’d advise you wait until FCO advice against all but essential travel affects your booking then contact LH.1

I’ve had I have a holiday booked with LH cancelled. Well the flights with Pegasus have been cancelled and a refund is being processed. I don’t know if that will be refunded back to LH or myself? LH have not confirmed if they will cancel the hotel and transfer and I’m still due to pay the balance 1/4.1

Simply says on their website they won't be offering compensation for loss of hols or travel, nothing about not giving refunds.

My travel insurance is useless as it doesn’t cover ‘restrictions imposed by any government of any country’. Just my luck!0
