It's not just the colours of the F&B paint, it is the quality it covers so well, I know this as I have had the tester pots, but thanks for the tip anyway, worth knowing.

I have chocolate coloured curtains and a lot of chocolate furniture in my living room. We recently painted the walls with -

    Dulux - Soft Montelimar

It is a very soft, almost nougat colour, goes on a bit paler than it looks. It goes so well with it and at least isn't the usual cream that most people go for. :)

Laura Ashley do a lovely duck egg blue, not sure on the cost or qualty of paint, but it will give you an idea of the duck egg colour.
http://www.lauraashley.com/icat/paintcollection they also do some lovely duck egg and cream/gold rugs.
    Hope this helps.

I like the Montelimar but, personally I'd go for a touch more lilac or violet - like Amethyst Showers:

If you don't feel very adventurous you can choose a shade more towards soft grey.

Accessories could be in darker shades of lilac and in duck egg blue or teal - they both go well with pale lilac

Their are only two coulours for main walls.........cream or white.

My whole house is cream, except the bathroom which is white.
    As boring as me :rotfl:

Hall, Lounge & Dining is Creame
Kitchen, Bathroom and Bedroom is White

    I need a change!

  • I've just finished decorating my lounge with brown. I've got Dulux Cookie dough as a feature wall and gentle fawn on the rest. I've got oak furniture and you've guessed it a chocolate brown sofa and curtains!!:rotfl:

What I'm doing is accessorising with duck egg blue. I've just bought some lovely candles in teal/duck egg blue and I'm going to get some canvas prints with some colour in them. You can also always get a big rug with some blue in. What about this one or similar:

Pale dusky pink always goes nice with brown. Nothing too bright.

That's what I'm doing in my lounge - anyone know where to get a nice dusky (or dirty as we call it) pink?
