What Colour walls go nice with Brown/Chocolate colour Furniture?

At the moment I have chocolate and cream walls but somehow it looks like too much brown  any ideas on what other colours would go nice with brown furniture?

Duck egg blue looks nice with brown, there also seems alot of teal around atm. that would go too. I also think certain reds (not pillar box!) look nice.

I was thinking of red and cream actually, maybe keep the cream I already have and just paint over the brown

Duck egg blue? Hmm I may get a sample and see. My local DIY shop is Focus so do I get their make or Dulux? maybe I should get each sample then, ok i'll try them :D

I have soft peach by Dulux on walls with brown sofas, I must say its a lovely warm colour. Take a look at the Dulux Website here, its pretty good, it tells you which colour goes with whathttp://www.dulux.co.uk/inspiration/index.jsp

Red and cream would look nice, but I would try the duck egg too. I'm not sure about Focus paint, they never seem to have the colour I'm after. Focus sometimes have offers on Dulux paint like 3 for 2.

Duck egg blue looks nice with brown,

That's what I've got at the moment! It does look nice, but I've had it for about 10 years now and I'm a bit sick of it :o

I was thinking of painting the walls a sort of goldy yellowy colour but I'm not sure. Maybe something like this colour:

Becles, I like that colour, lots of lovely accessories about to go with that too atm.
I must admit to being a little colour phobic myself when it comes to paint, we did a whole a house in what was 'fashionable' at the time and lived to regret it:o
I tend to stick to plain walls and add bits in the colours I like.
  • We're just sorting the same dilemma at teh mo.

We've got a chocolate leather suiteand when we put it in our red lounge it made it look like a 'gentleman's smoking room' and didn't do anything for the wall colour or the furniture (wall colour was F&Bs Picture gallery Red...gorgeous, even if I say so myself).

We've now changed the walls to a warm light gold and the suite looks great against it and the whole room much bigger.

Do like the idea of the Duck Egg Blue too.

Does your room get much sunlight? If so I'd go for the Duck Egg Blue.....if it's a bit of warmth you need then go for yellow or gold.

    Good luck!

How much brown is in your room?, we have a dark brn leather suite, the focal wall is a lovely chocolate colour (cocoa) by crown and the rest is (Mimosa by crown.)

I'll try and find a pic, but bear in mind with the camera the colours might not look exactly how they are on the walls

Half way through the first coat of painting our walls with Dulux Ivory (a light cream colour).

Did you find it a bit yellowish?, I used the same colour the other month for a client, and she hated it, it was 'dulux' Ivory, but it came out not as creamy as it should have.
