KLM issuing vouchers instead of refund

We're in the same situation. We were due to fly with KLM on 4th April and they've now cancelled the flights. I can't get through to them to request a refund instead of a voucher. It sounds like they are not going to give us a refund even if I do get through. I hear the advice of not accepting the voucher, but how long can I do that for? I assume I have do decide to accept the voucher before the 4th if I can't get through or they don't agree to provide a refund. Re-scheduling the flights is not an option for us. Does anyone know if there are any other options?

Hi, I actually spoken to someone at KLM and they just kept repeating that they can not offer a cash refund as that is not their policy. I am sure that this is not correct but i do not know what to do. Does anyone know?0

Whilst almost every person or company is in an uncertain position at the moment, KLM must abide by the law.In these cases resend en email marked as an NBA or LBA giving 2 weeks notice for payment or you will commence leagl proceedings for recovery. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Their policy is their policy, EU261/2004 is the law0

Does anything change in EU law if I have to wait until after the flight date (4th April for us) i.e. I don't accept the vouchers or re-schedule options but KLM also don't offer a refund before that date?Do you think KLM will continue to offer the options after the flight date?EU261/2004 seems to focus on compensation. I'm not looking for compensation so I don't know if that law is relevant.

It probably won't be anytime soon. Let's hope the letter does the trick.0

We were due to fly with Virgin on Friday booked direct with KLM. Outgoing flight been cancelled.
Rang them up asked for refund and they saying only a voucher, if I don’t use voucher within a year then will be refunded. I told them am entitled to a refund now but they weren’t having any of it.
Where do I stand?
We are planning on travelling April next year so could use voucher for that but means we would be limited to booking through KLM then. What happened if KLM or Virgin go bust?0 -
If they refusing refund can I claim back on credit card?0
