Get a signature on a white sheet of paper, take a photo of it with your smartphone, transfer it to your PC/laptop, crop it down so just the signature shows, create and save as a file, then import it into your defence document as an image, manoeuvring it into the correct position.

As a pdf - a Word document can easily be edited by any recipient.

now do the DQ and let her email it next monday or whenever to the same CCBC email address, plus post a second copy to the claimant with a copy of the appendix attached to it so they get a copy early , get a freee certificate of posting from the post office counter

    then relax

Thanks, is this guidance still valid/up to date etc:

    1. After filing your Defence, there is more to do...

    2. Do not be surprised to receive an early copy of the Claimant's Directions Questionnaire and the usual intimidating template letter saying they 'intend to proceed'. Nothing of interest there. Just file it.
    3. Wait for your own Directions Questionnaire from the CCBC, or download one from the internet - https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/form-n180-directions-questionnaire-small-claims-track , and then complete it as described by bargepole in his 'what happens when' post linked from post #2 of the NEWBIES thread - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/64350585#Comment_64350585
    4. The completed DQ should be returned by email to the CCBC to the same address and in the same way as your Defence was filed earlier.  AND attach the Southampton Approved Judgment (6 pages as linked in the first post above) to your DQ email as well, in case the CCBC hasn't appended it with your defence.  We want the CCBC to start seeing this Judgment.
    5. Send a copy of your completed DQ to the Claimant - to their address on your Claim Form.  You could also put in the body of the email that intend to proceed and will be encouraging the court to strike out the claim without a hearing, AND attach the Southampton Approved Judgment (6 pages as linked in the first post above) to your DQ email, so the Claimant can't be heard to later say they haven't received a copy of your Appendix C, because the CCBC didn't supply it with your defence (which might happen!).

Yes , the guidance is still correct

Due to these uncertain times I would get on with doing it next week , so after the defence has been registered by the CCBC on MCOL , by logging in and checking. Once they have done the first email I would email the DQ so they register it as well , just in case, plus post what the above says to the claimant as well , just to be sure

If and when the claimant and the CCBC send theirs to your gf , I would login and double check that it's all done

Then your gf is awaiting a postal letter from Brighton court in several months time

I wouldn't be waiting around for the CCBC to post it
