County Court Business Centre query

  • I've not received the following yet (Wait for your own Directions Questionnaire from the CCBC) , should I wait or just get on with it? Is there a deadline when this info needs to be in by?

    1. Do not be surprised to receive an early copy of the Claimant's Directions Questionnaire and the usual intimidating template letter saying they 'intend to proceed'. Nothing of interest there. Just file it.
    2. Wait for your own Directions Questionnaire from the CCBC, or download one from the internet - https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/form-n180-directions-questionnaire-small-claims-track , and then complete it as described by bargepole in his 'what happens when' post linked from post #2 of the NEWBIES thread - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/64350585#Comment_64350585

    Just get on with it
MCOL will tell you definitively if the DQ has been sent. Jusdt download and email. Easy.
  • Update : court date has now been booked . Unfortunately the parking firm has not backed down . My gf does not want to proceed with the court case . Do you think I could negotiate with the firm and pay part of the fine ? The hearing will be by telephone , can I sit in for my gf? Thanks

Yes you can act as her Lay Rep and speak on her behalf ... but she must also attend the hearing.
  • Make sure you add the claim number back in, and that nothing remains in red.

Then read bargepole's summary of what happens when (from the NEWBIES THREAD) and how she should fill in the DQ (next form).  We don't have time to answer questions about the DQ, like 'should we agree to Mediation?'  NONONONONO!

Stay in touch though and read witness statement examples to see what will be needed by way of evidence, later.  Go and get some photos in the dark when on a walk, if this is local.
Hi there , been a while but the case has escalated to a hearing in late October . Is the offer of assistance still on the table ? Thanks

Sure, remind me which car park this is and send me a private message with a pic of the Order and the Claim form (N1 form, the claim itself front page).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
