customs charges

I would try asking the seller for a partial refund as they probably don't want the charges mentioned in the feedback. Not everyone gets charged it's a bit of a lottery.0

One of the collection drivers we get from Parcelforce is usually on the front counter at the Manchester depot, he says the majority of the day doing that job is explaining to people who bought something overseas on Ebay that they have to pay customs charge and surcharge.
It should really be made clearer by Ebay on the item pages offering international sales as there is obviously a lot of people who don't know about it, as others have said it isn't really the sellers fault, especially if he sells to other countries as the laws are different from country to country..0 -

If I was the seller, I would politely refuse and state that it's up to the buyer to acquaint themselves with their own local customs and VAT charges. The fact that the OP was charged is *nothing* to do with the seller in the slightest.0 -

That rather suggests that the buyer is prepared to look foolish by mentioning in feedback that he did not understand that duty would be payable. As a buyer I would be more than happy to continue buying from a seller who had feedback suggesting that some of his buyers did not understand UK tax laws. However, as a seller I might well be tempted to remove bids from someone who had previously left such feedback.
The seller is at no fault at all here.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Customs or Royal Mail. If its at customs its in the queue and nothing you can really do.
If the RM have it they will send you a letter telling you how to pay before they will either deliver or you will collect. (Normally card over the phone)0 -

In your first post you said parcel force have said you have to pay a fee. Now you say it's still at customs. Which is it?
If parcel force have told you how much to pay you wont get it until you have paid.
If it's still in customs then how would parcel force know how much you owe?
You should have got a letter if parcel force have it with a number you can call and pay by card over the phone.0
