  • Hi guys, like everyone else on here I've been reading through comparing our application with the rest of yours and have found everyone's stories helping me to put my mind at ease.
Unfortunately my dad passed away in March leaving his house to myself and my sister.
With myself and my wife renting our home we decided we would buy my sister's half of the house.
I contacted simply adverse to see if we could get a mortgage because I'd had an IVA which I completed in March.
Within 24 hours I'd had an AIP.
    This was 24th June.

28th June our application was sent to Bluestone

29th June blue stone instructed a valuation.

The valuation they booked in was with Connells. I read the reviews on Connells valuations and it's hard to find a good one.
Has anyone had an experience with valuations with Connells?

Our valuation is booked in for 12th July.

From what I've read on here the next step would be the mortgage offer as long as all is fine with the valuation.
Or is there another credit check after the valuation?

I'll be glad when all this is completed as it's occupying my mind 24/7 lol

We had connells. Very thorough but it worked out our house was worth double what we bought it for . We was council tenants but bought it from them, using a mortgage however inheritance put aside for developing it. Good luck

Thank you for you reply. Fingers crossed it all goes well for us 🙂
  • Afternoon all

We submitted our application to Bluestone at the end of May and already had a DIP at that point. Backwards and forwards with additional information, recognising that our remortgage application is around debt consolidation. We are now at 6 weeks and not moved to valuation so am beginning to think it’s a no go. Can’t sleep and so stressed I cannot tell you……….

Lots of other people are progressing at pace and it’s so good to see for them, but just increases my anxiety.

any advice or sharing of experiences would be appreciated……. Losing hope 😧😢😢😢

@difficultime2022 best thing to do is get comfortable, with a large cup of tea and read this thread from the start. You'll see everyone has different timescales and experiences as it's a personal approach Bluestone take, not a computer says yes / no.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • @MovingForwards I really appreciate the reply, I know what you are saying - it’s just nerve wrecking as I’m sure we all feel whilst going through the process

    are you sorted now ?

    🤞🤞

@difficultime2022 I've been in my home for over 2 years, nerve racking time when the pandemic hit, but everything worked out.

There's only been a couple of people who didn't get an offer in all the years this thread has been running. Trust your broker.

Hiya, looks like you are on the same time scale as us. Our application was submitted on 31st May, we have sent over requested info promptly but we are still waiting. Tomorrow is 6 weeks. I was advised our underwriter went on holiday and nobody covered his work hence the delays. I know exactly how you are feeling, but i am trying to remain positive and hoping that if the answer was no we would've been told that by now. Keep me posted!!!
  • @afreshstart86

Yes - I agree looks like we are on a similar time line, that in its self is reassuring (hopefully 🤞).

I hope we both hear something very soon……. I hope your underwriter is refreshed after a holiday 😊
  • Just a word of encouragement! The process does drag out but in the end it will work out!! We completed a couple of months ago - the process felt like it wouldn’t end. We almost thought it would never happen!! But it did. Just think each time you are asked to resubmit more info you are getting closer. Wishing everyone the best of luck
