I'm at my wits end now, our absolutely useless solicitors won't exchange contracts until bluestone has come back happy that all conditions are met, we need to be completed by the 26th! We're using the old H2B, he needs to put in the 2nd form for them to release funds which takes 5 days, but can't do that until exchange! We've sent in proof of our conditions to solicitors who say no it's suppose to be our MB.. MB is saying no it's solicitors that need too? We just seem to be getting no where and no one is helping! We're going to be homeless from the 31st with 3 kids if this doesn't go through! 😩 This whole process has been horrific from the start, 4 months of pure hell and stress.. Just want it to end now!

Will bluestone release funds If they are still asking for different documents of proving debts are paid off?
  • @Hopeful89 I had an update to say the underwriters asked for documents that was already given, they have asked for my case to reassessed asap.. Just thought I would let you know :)

Our solicitor would not exchange prior to Bluestone being happy as she was concerned that after the way they had gone on there would be a last minute hiccup. If we had exchanged and Bluestone pulled it then we would have been left losing the builders 10% deposit, even though we were only putting down 5% as we were using old HtB as well. In the end we exchanged and completed on the same day. She had been in touch with the HtB agent and explained what the situation was which meant that when they got the forms they were able to complete the Authority to Exchange and Authority to Complete on the same day. It did add to stress levels but in hindsight I can see she was only doing her job in not exposing us to a risk of losing a lot of money.

Ah okay, so could we ask our solicitor to get in contact with the help to buy agent and explain the situation and see if they will exchange and complete on the same day? It doesn't help it takes so long for bluestone to get back to them and the fact the solicitors are just awful with communication with us 😢

    Valuation day tomorrow 🤞🏻
  • We had our Vaulation completed on 2nd March and full Underwrite completed 9th March and have been waiting since for an update/offer after BS asked for another bank statement and proof deposit was from our own sources which was sent same day.  It’s so frustrating, our DIP was end of November and full app a week later.  MA is ringing them everyday and they just don’t seem to care that people have lives and need to know what’s happening !

Ah I hope they come back to you quickly!!!
  • Having now completed with Bluestone I wanted to share some tips:
If you are having to pay off debts, overpay slightly by £1 so that it keeps generating statements, in case it goes into teh next month and they want further statements.
Get your MA and solicitor to chase frequently, this help move ours along.
Bluestone are very precise about the evidence they need, make sure you read what they want and ensure what you provide matches 100%
  • Our MA advised us today that Bluestone are hoping to complete final underwrite stage by the end of the week (including the weekend) and we should have an update on where we stand next week. My nerves are shattered!

Hi Everyone, looking for a bit of advice please.
Full application went in on 8th Feb, we were asked for a statement from my partners parents as they are providing part of the gift deposit a couple of weeks ago and we instructed valuation early which has been booked for Monday 22/03. We have had an update from our MB (Mortgage Thoughts) today stating that there are no documents outstanding and as long as the valuation comes back OK it should be passed for final underwrite / sign off before formal offer. What sort of things have people been asked for after the valuation other than bank statements & payslips? Has anyone used Mortgage Thoughts?
    Thanks in advance
