Maybe i buy 4 plyontech at £3128 and sell my Aoboet for 2400 and that way im saving money and the person getting the aoboet is saving money ?

So this would mean £1200 per 2.4 instead of £1500 plus postage, not sure if warranty is transferable and no way to know treatment of batteries. I think that is too expensive.

You simply select Pylontech in the settings on the Lux lcd.
9.6kwh Pylontechs will provide a max of 3.6kw from a single Lux ac controller.
You would need 2 parallel Lux units for more power.
so my understanding is as follows. If I have power from my solar it clips at 3.5kw and that would be matched with the 3.6kw from battery so potentially anything that is under 7.1kw draw of power I would not use any grid power but over that I would need to draw grid for the difference..
    Yes, correct.
Are you sure about that, I thought the total AC output of the inverter was 3.6kW, not 3.5kW from the PV and 3.6kW from the battery simultaneously?
A Lux ac controller is totally independent from a pv system, it's on the ac side as the name suggests.
The pv has it's own inverter which will output whatever the inverter spec is.
So you will have up to 3.6kw from the Lux plus whatever the pv inverter puts out.

Different story though if you have a hybrid battery/pv inverter which is on the dc side. The total output from batteries and pv will be limited to the spec of the single inverter.

Edit: Just noticed from your sig that you have a hybrid Lux so I can see why you queried it. Starfrog and myself have the Lux ac controller as opposed to a hybrid Lux.

Ah sorry, forgot it would be different with a separate AC controller, my mistake  :#

  • How folks,

Can I get some help from those of you that have successfully mix and matched us2000b and us3000c batteries?

I have a bank of 3 2000b which I've just added 2 3000c modules to. I've made one of the 3000c the master.

They've all powered up. They appear to be doing a battery balance now with blinking battery level lights on the empty 2000b, and solid battery lights with flashing run on the 3000c.

Comms cable is from the 3000c but no Comms happening... Any advice?

    5.41 kWp System, E-W. Installed Nov 2017
    Lux + 3 x US2000B + 2 x US3000C battery storage. Installed Mar 2020.

First thing I would check is the settings on the Lux lcd and make sure the battery type is set to Pylontech.

Managed to sort while chatting with some guys from the octopus forums who ordered batteries with me. Oddly when using the rs485 port on the battery (us3000c) the whole system sprang to life and is working + communicating well

    Looking at batteries.
Thinking about the Lux AC3600 inverter and 3 Pylontech 2.4kWh batteries.
I've  been recommended GivEnergy 5.2kWh/8.2kWh AC coupled with 5.2kWh/8.2kWh batteries.
Anyone compared these 2 systems or have any info on them please.
    Thanks

i seem to be pulling around 20watts from grid at all times.

would Lux support be able to make any changes?

I'm not a Lux expert but I seem to recall other people having a similar problem that Lux could sort out remotely.
