Thanks Solarchaser. Very useful and reassuring to get your opinion.
3. If you were on an export tarrif like octopus agile export that say gave you £2/kwh between 2pm and 4pm, then you may like to set your batteries to force discharge at that time.
I've never done this, but there are forum users who do.
I had no idea there were different rates for time of export. Not on my contract but makes sense.
Thanks again1 -
If you have the L Series battery the recommended DOD is 100%. This means the manufacturer has 'hidden' some of the capacity & the real DOD will be somewhat higher. If you want to play it safe, go for 90% or 95% but really there should be no need with LFP.
Pylontechs are shipped with a 60% charge so that's probably an indication of the ideal SOC for long term storage.4kWp (black/black) - Sofar Inverter - SSE(141°) - 30° pitch - North LincsInstalled June 2013 - PVGIS = 3400Sofar ME3000SP Inverter & 5 x Pylontech US2000B Plus & 3 x US2000C Batteries - 19.2kWh0 -
I emailed Lux to ask what had happened to the option to change battery cut off, this was their reply
Discharge Cut off Soc has been hidden with end user account in UK by requesting UK distributor,
please consult with your supplier.
kind regards

The soc cutoff has been restored today, think too many people complained, apparently jake from infinity solutions takes it upon himself on what and what not settings we can access.
The battery issue i had with it not charging/discharging above 100w ended up being one of my 3 pylontecs, currently going through the process of hopfully getting it replaced as we speak.
around about the same time one of my brothers pylontecs has exploded and destroyed the case completely, most of the cells have puffed pushing the lid off0 -
I've been having similar problems with the under 100w charging thing. Then last few days the battery cut off tripping when I was trying to charge from grid. My installer came and changed the 2 x 2.4s for a new 4.8 US5000 on Monday and I told him about the disappearing SOC setting.
Unfortunately the new battery is tripping too so I've had to leave it off, annoying with the good Agile prices at the moment. Hoping it's not the Lux.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

That seems to be very rare considering how many pylons have been sold with virtually zero reports of fires/explosions on the web.
Did the case contain the explosion ok or did any battery material escape?4kWp (black/black) - Sofar Inverter - SSE(141°) - 30° pitch - North LincsInstalled June 2013 - PVGIS = 3400Sofar ME3000SP Inverter & 5 x Pylontech US2000B Plus & 3 x US2000C Batteries - 19.2kWh0 -
Never heard of pylons exploding other than water damaged ones.
My slave lux stopped discharging several days ago.
Switching all off and back on resolves it for 24 hours, but fir from ideal.
Master lux was unaffected.
Contacted lux who eventually said they pushed new firmware which seems to have sorted it
On BAAB-0808 which I assume is parallel only.
They advised sharing battery and set some setting which Jake has apparently disabled for us mere mortals 🙄
But now they are both only charging at 1.7kw each.

You now should refer to the batteries as primary and secondaries, your terms are no longer PC, I got told off by my kidsBarnsley, South Yorkshire

While I can understand that, I think it's important in some cases to use the terminology the manufacturer uses to save confusion.
This was their graphic from yesterday.

they think the bms has failed and battery over discharged - A rack of 5 x us2000 this was the second battery down so not the master, kinda makes you wonder what the master bms is for
