This is you using your smart meter Nick or something else?

I fitted an import/export meter to my Sofar inverter to get accurate month end readings.

I find the myenergi ct readings the most inaccurate.
I also have an optismart sensor on the pv meter which reads the blinking led but the Lux seems to be the most accurate of the lot.

Our Octopus account shows consumption of 10.94kwh yesterday, the Lux shows 10.7kwh and myenergi shows 11.9kwh.

Likewise - I have LED sensors (Geo) on both the generation & import meters & the MyEnergy app is consistent with those readings. Very impressive for a CT clamp. B)

Strange, have you had the myenergi gear long ?
    We've had a zappi since 2019 so could older/inferior ct clamps ??
I take it your led sensor readings match your smart meter ?

    Oh good thinking Scott👍

    So myenergi yesterday says

    75.2kwh
    Lux says 70.4kwh
    Octopus says 73.78kwh

    So myenergi is 1.4kwh adrift
    Lux is 3.3kwh adrift

Never thought about comparing with Octopus,  good shout👍

Edit. My myenergi stuff is all from this year, so yeah possible improvements in their clamps /software/firmware

Yesterday's import figures from various devices...

    Geo (LED)      27.4kWh
    MyEnergi (CT) 27.4kWh
    IHD:                 27.45kWh
    Solarman (CT): 26.87kWh

    4kWp (black/black) - Sofar Inverter - SSE(141°) - 30° pitch - North Lincs
    Installed June 2013 - PVGIS = 3400

  • How are you monitoring charge vs discharge?
I ask because it used to be on the app, but there is only charge now.

I think I previously worked out my round trip with pylons at 82% using charge vs discharge figures
I'm taking the battery usage figure from the Energy Overview off the web page.  OK it may not be 100% accurate but it's consistent with the consumption figures (from the same page) and the actual usage from Octopus.

The metered efficiency of my pylons on the AC>DC>AC round trip is 79.9% so that's the same ball park as your system. The Solarman app understates the charge by 4.3% & overstates the discharge by 6.6%.

A 22kWh charge would therefore be expected to yield around 17.5kWh.

80% is what I would expect for a round trip, but I'm only measuring half the round trip. They are being fully charged (to 24kWh capacity using about 26-27kWh)

On reflection, the 99% I expected should be 90% - since I'm (probably) measuring after it's been converted to AC.  That's still a long way from 72%, though.

Also the (obviously) misreported SOCs shouldn't matter as I'm going from full to empty.
  • Hi Folks,

I have just come back to check my config using the web app and note that the ability to set  'On Grid cut off %'.  and 'Off grid cut off' seems have disappeared.

Any thoughts as to why, or am I having a Saga moment?

im seeing a charge rate of 7.5a on my 3 pylontecs in my garage which is currently 8 degrees, ive never seen the charge rate so low and curtainly not at 8 degrees.

even more strange is after checjing the charge graph from last night it only charged at a constant 300w and looks like the same is happening tonight.

any clue to whats happening, normally i would say the tempature but 8c isnt below the threshhold

I'd be temped to switch off lux, switch off batteries.
Disconnect positive feed from batteries and all comms leads and switch the batteries on, and see if they are all at the same level, or charging each other.
If they seem OK, connect it all back up and switch it all on and see if it resets back to normal
