@gradgrind You can always get the figures of actual import/export from your energy bills.

You'll find the Lux isn't exact anyway. The difference is slight but I've imported less and exported more (according to the smart meter) than the Lux has recorded.

Anyone got the LUX hybrid working on a 3 phase installation? Can it be done?
It should work on a single phase of the three in exactly the same way it works on a single-phase installation.
If you want all three phases to be supported, you'll need three Luxes (unless they make a special three-phase version).

  • The part I can’t get in my head is with a three phase I should split the car chargers and Lux to share the load but can’t or the zappi won’t know anything about the Lux

Has anyone worked out an automated way of exporting to grid when the Outgoing Agile price reaches a set threshold?

I have the Lux "Octopus Charge" settings page which was enabled by Infinity Innovations but it doesn't work properly when setting a 'discharge price'. I suspect that it only checks import prices which are capped (and also usually higher than export prices) so setting an export price of (say) 60p plus never triggers despite export rates hitting 65p 17:30 - 19:00 today. I've queried with Jake but not got a response.
I've been trying to do the exact same thing and came to a similar conclusion. I've got it set to discharge based on price which I also happened to set to 60p due to the rates over the last week around peak time.

I'm also set to only force discharge the battery down to 50% and noticed around midday when the battery gets over 50% charge it starts to export. So clearly not getting the correct readings or ignoring them altogether.

I also reached out to Jake who told me I need to go through my installer which I will, although I don't suspect they will be able to help as the documentation they sent me on Octopus Charge was extremely outdated.

On the off chance he was able to advise I replied with a little more information but didn't get a response.

Please let me know if you get anywhere with this, or get a reply from Jake.

Right now I'm not entirely happy as this feature was what attracted me to the Lux Inverter.

    Thanks.

  • I contacted Jake too and got a very short answers when asking if the system could support listening to other phases to act accordingly.

have you considered home assistant? It might be a step too far but it may have octopus rates and then using the unofficial Lux inverter integration you could right an automation to switch on or off discharge? A lot of work but it may or may not help

I'm going to look into Home Assistant and lxp-bridge as well as an alternative integration someone posted on the Home Assistant forum.

I'm still going to contact my installer next week and see what they say. Interested to know if anyone else finds a solution in the meantime.
  • A reminder of my system: My set up is 10 x Uhome LFP2400 with two Lux 3600 AC inverters, five batteries to each inverter.

We've just gone up to 10 batteries (from 4).  Since then, energy has been disappearing.  Here's an example:

In the period from 23:30 to 23:35 on 2nd September, the battery SoC went down from 41% to 10%.  That equates to 3.7kWh and a discharge rate of at least 45kW, which is not possible.

This has happened three times in 24 hours, over both battery stacks.

Immediate reaction is that the batteries are misreporting their charge, but if so you would expect a correction later, and there is no evidence of this.

    Any suggestions?

    Jeremy

I've got Home Assistant setup and successfully reading my Octopus rates using an Octopus Energy addon from Github. I've decided not to go the lxp-bridge route, instead reaching out to someone on the Home Assistant forum who has developed an addon. I explained what I wanted to do and they're giving me access to it. From what they have described, it will be a case of me setting the discharge time from 00:00 to 23:59, then using HA to switch discharging on and off based on the rate threshold. (Pretty much how the integration is supposed to work for discharging but doesn't).

    Will update on my progress.

I'll try to find out.  I have so far completely failed to get any of them to connect to the aoboet app.

I know there's another way to connect using one of the ports but that may be beyond my technical capabilities.
