I'm not saying they might not look but there is generally no need for them to respond/act on posts in here (unless they are abusive etc) and with sooo much to do they should not be spending time posting updates in here or any places outside the feedback section when that is there for everybody to see all the updates without responses being fragmented across the forum or duplicated in different sections.  (not sure if that should be sooo or soooooooo)

I think they will eventually get round to working on our requests but we are maybe not on their list of high priorities!

...instead they spent time on  "We are migrating the 'Entered' and 'Skipped' buttons for the Competitions Time boards, but importing the data will take a little longer - there are 170 million competition entries and 320 million skips" - well doing the bulk  (99% plus) of this was just a complete waste of time as the overwhelming numbers come from "game over"  - (nearly 1,000,000 threads in there compared to less than 2,500 active threads on the main comp board) the vast majority of users wouldn't have been bothered in the slightest if the "game over" section  had been completely wiped and restarted...
That’s not always how it works. I’d expect it would take longer in terms of computing power to work out what needs to be moved and what can be deleted than to just transfer it all.

It’s not always size that matters...it is very much how you use it (or don’t)

On a personal note: The entire Team is working incredibly hard right now trying to help a lot of very desperate people and working long hours (as well as covering for colleagues who are ill), seeing conspiracy theories like this is honestly crushing and disheartening.

We're not perfect, I'm not perfect, but we are genuinely doing our best despite everything that is going on right now. Please stand with us.

    Thank you

For people like me, who have been in complete social isolation for nearly three weeks now, and who will continue to be, probably for months, this Forum is a very welcome and necessary contact with the Outside World, both for info, for chit chat, and most importantly, for some good laughs.

    So, thank you, Forum Team!

(I’d still like the Thanks button back in The Arms, though! 😉 )

    Hi all,
Can I firstly clarify that there is absolutely no conspiracy to get rid of the Compers. We are aware that not everything is working as we would have liked after the migration, but we have already explained that we are working on this and it's a priority.
Unfortunately the global pandemic that has been picking up pace over the last few weeks has severely impacted our schedules both for us and our supplier. MSE are currently working flat out trying to provide help and support for millions of people and users across the UK, some things, including the Compers functionality, is still being worked on even now, but there are people in desperate need who we are collating answers and information to as our foremost priority. Whilst the disruption to the comping is unfortunate it simply can't be helped. It is not a small piece of work, but a bespoke functionality which is proving very complex and requires senior developers.

On a personal note: The entire Team is working incredibly hard right now trying to help a lot of very desperate people and working long hours (as well as covering for colleagues who are ill), seeing conspiracy theories like this is honestly crushing and disheartening.
I appreciate that things aren't perfect, but we have always been honest with you and there has never been any consideration that Compers would close or be de-prioritised (actually quite the opposite) and whilst timelines and plans have had to change during these unprecedented times I really want to ask you to support myself and the whole MSE Team, if something doesn't get fixed as fast as we want or intended, there will have been a reason for it beyond our control.

We're not perfect, I'm not perfect, but we are genuinely doing our best despite everything that is going on right now. Please stand with us.

    Thank you

Thank you for saying this. I confess, I've only just seen your kind reply, as it was pointed out to me in another thread. I hope that you will accept my 'better late than never' thanks. Ii will wait patiently for the MSE team to sort things out. I do understand that this might take longer than any of us want, and thank you for the update. I hope you won't mind a friendly, hopefully helpful, suggestion - if you get to see it, that is. I can't speak for all areas of the forum, as I mainly stick with the comping section, but I know we would all appreciate it if MSE would occasionally post in Compers Chat Corner with an update, even if it is just to say, "We haven't forgotten you and we will try to sort out the glitches when we can." Maybe even do it as a sticky? But I do appreciate you taking the trouble to post what you said. I wish I'd seen it sooner - my fault, of course.

    Best wishes
