So Earn a Monthly Reward by keeping £5,000 or more in your account • In order to qualify for the Monthly Reward in any calendar month, you must keep a balance of £5,000 or more in your account every day.
• The Offer starts on the day you select it and lasts for a minimum of 12 full months. For example, if you select the Offer on 10th November 2020, it will end on 30th November 2021. If you keep a balance of £5,000 or more in your account from 10th - 30th November 2020, you will receive the Offer for that month.
It doesn't make a lot of odds to me - I'm in the DC monthly faff-for-a-fiver camp while my £5k earns at least another £5 pm elsewhere..

Wasn't sure of the DC payment requirement needed to be done in May for the June reward, so I did it anyway, plus keeping my 2 DDs and £1500 pay in.Retired 1st July 2021.
This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."1 -

Do tell us what turns up in your account in early June.0 -

Do tell us what turns up in your account in early June.No please don't as the rest of us would be really peeved if it's a fiver. (Suspect it's more likely to be two quid though.)Not a bad idea to cover your bases though as the banks have a history of publishing savings terms that don't say what they mean. As anyone who remembers the NatWest account fiasco of some years ago, that resulted in four figure compensation payouts, and Skipton before that, will remember.

portenio said:Hi everyone, first post here!I have been on MSE for many years but for some reason never registered on the forum.Thank God I read MSE weekly email Tuesday night as I got to know about the changes and the deadline!I had no idea as I am away from home and usually don't check my inbox on Halifax Online.OK so, I read the 60 pages of the thread, each and every message, and today at 3am I called the automated number ending 33, no issues at that time with lines busy of course!Accidentally I made my choice for my 3 Halifax accounts, despite 1 being an Easycash and all 3 were accepted. There is no rejecting from the automated voice to say "this account doesn't qualify". As is there no user validation like many commented. It will be fun if eventually it is also converted to new scheme. But realistically I don't think it will. They are not that silly at the Halifax (or maybe they are, we shall see).Cheers.
I keyed in my first direct account details (part of HSBC) and it went through the same. I did this to test any validation on account numbers, which proved there wasn't any.3 -

AIUI you are able to upgrade standard c/as to Rewards Extra, assume in June when they've become a standard c/a. There maybe short cuts... but they'll be untested.
Or ask Hfax.

I'm confused about which date the new rewards system starts as it is now stating 1st July on the Halifax website.0
