around the 12th, which may be on the 12th or before or after. The 12th isn’t over yet, either. Last month, the payments were made in the afternoon of the 13th.

It seems the £5 is paid just after 12 noon on the 12th, or on the 13th, etc if the 12th was a weekend day

Agreed. But by comparison with the old rewards, which were described in statements as REWARD (NET), it could be implied that the new Reward Extras (for debit-card expenditure) are paid gross.
If anyone has opted for the £5 reward on £5k balance, it would interesting to know how their Halifax statement describes the payment.

Just "Reward Extra" on my £5k one.
My other debit card driven one(s) are same.
