Home deliveries are subject to the same trading laws for Easter Sunday as the "bricks & mortar" stores. They are not permitted to deliver.
Going down the Oteley Road to see the Shrewsbury aces! :T0 -
Maybe it's time for some kind of coupon system for neccessities.
It's good the super markets are setting aside time for NHS staff and elderly , but there are a lot of people still having to work. Also nurses work shifts , the time might not suit
Couldn't the supermarkets set up a mobile shop for hospitals and other essential workplaces ?

To me it seems like the usual government mess, lots of promises without making sure there is any infrastructure to carry out the promises. Only now we are on lockdown, we can't do much about it except give up on supermarkets and go to small shops (and my small shops don't do the fresh produce I need). So I am going to have to go out tomorrow, risking infection even though i am high risk (but not in the super vulnerable group) knowing full well if I get sick it will be serious and there is no one to look after my two children. Thanks Mr Johnson for your usually well considered move. Lockdown was needed but the infrastructure to make this workable just isn't there. I can't help feeling if he hadn't chopped and changed in what was needed, this might have been a bit better organised. Still, at least its better living here than the US.1

Deliveroo / M&S / BPJust been reading that Deliveroo has teamed up with 120 Marks & Spencer franchise stores at BP petrol stations to deliver a limited range of household essentials including milk, bread and ready meals.
Obviously, this is only useful if you live in the vicinity of one of the selected BP petrol stations but hopefully M&S might consider starting up some more food delivery options.1 -
There are plenty of foodstuffs available on Amazon, I have had quite a bit delivered to my door recently.0

I've been trying Asda, Tesco and Iceland randomly for a couple of days.
Got lucky finally today with a slot for tomorrow morning!0 -
Looks like we've fallen through the cracks with Sainsburys. Have shopped with them since the early 70's but have for the last 10 days been trying to get a delivery slot without success. Website or call line down or unresponsive. Yesterday the website changed to include a link to the Government website that was collating a database of those who are "extremely vulnerable" and are self isolating during the Coronavirus outbreak. The online questionnaire is directed specifically at those with underlying medical conditions that put them at the greatest risk. My wife and I are defined as vulnerable being both 75, but we don't fit the criteria for this database.
I managed to get through to the Sainsburys call centre after 1 hour listening to muzak. The young lady said that this new database link was being prioritized and she could not register any other so-called vulnerable people at the moment.
So we now have 2 options - travel to the local store against the government guidelines and expose ourselves to greater risk of infection or find a way to satisfy the database criteria.
By the way on the preamble to the database online form it does state "if you're not sure if your medical condition makes you vulnerable - register anyway" Can't quite understand how you can do that because if you complete the form truthfully ie you have not received a letter from the NHS and your medical condition is not on the list provided in the form then basically you have to lie to get through to the end.0 -
Police are just as critical as the NHS and they work a crazy shift system. Why aren't they, and firemen, also given the preferential time slots too?
Supermarkets are lying to us when they told us there are no supply issues with toilet rolls and enough food for the nation. I've gone in first thing to Tesco Express near us twice this week for milk; first in the door - got the milk fine however while there noticed no fruit, in one store no veg apart from onions and another store only 2 packs of leeks, onions and 1 broccoli. (no, I didn't buy any of those as didn't need them). No loo rolls.1
