Lebara 2GB Monthly SIM Only Plan £5

I would assume that is the SIM associated with the service you are signing up for, which you will of course need, and there's no separate charge for the actual SIM.bras0778 said:I signed up to this deal via the link from MSE's Best Sim only deals page. On the payment page, it says "SIM £0.00". Does that mean that Lebara will send me a SIM, or do I need to order a SIM separately?Evolution, not revolution0 -
On the basis that MSE had this Lebara deal as one of the best, I bought £5 sim only deal. Imagine my shock when 1 hour after I started using it I was told I had no credit left. I started an online chat with an agent as I said I had only used the phone once and that was for an 0800 number. She looked into it and unfortunately I had called 0803 by mistake (my fault, awaiting a cataract op and eyesight not so great just now) however during "conversation" she advised that calls to businesses would be charged at some ridiculous rate (I think it was £1.85 pm?) What I can't understand is that I have a letter in front of me which came with the sim which clearly states 2GB data, Unlimited UK minutes & texts and 100 international calls. So not quite sure how (even allowing for my silly misdial) I used up my whole £5 allowance in 10 seconds and now I'm scared to use my phone at all as dear knows what other hidden costs are there. I've looked up Google for 0803 numbers and it doesn't seem to tell me what it costs. Any help would be much appreciated with this sim or the 0803 number query. Thanks.

You need to set up an allowance on your account to cover non standard rate calls etc. Your £5 covers the 2GB etc for the month but if, for example, you want to send short code text messages or premium rate messages then Lebara want the ability to debit your account to cover the cost of them. If you don't set up a credit allowance then you encounter the situation you now find yourself in.maggiesoup said:On the basis that MSE had this Lebara deal as one of the best, I bought £5 sim only deal. Calls to non-geographic numbers such as 0870, 0840 will not be included in your inclusive UK calls. Maybe what you called was 0830, and that (or 0803) is also a non-geographic prefix...(?) Did your call connect..?maggiesoup said:an 0800 number. She looked into it and unfortunately I had called 0803 by mistakeEvolution, not revolution1 -

"Top up credit
Buy credit to call, send SMS and use data"
I have a £10 credit, from when I ported in a number, which has carried forward, unused, for about four months now.

I only tried out Lebara for a month but the reception wasn't as good as I had hoped so I can't check my account details. What I do recall is that there were various options within account settings and I am pretty sure that you will find a credit option in there.maggiesoup said:Thankyou. Your data and minutes costing £5 per month isn't lost as it is the cost of the basic service for the month so you are looking at two different scenarios. If you hadn't made the call in error then there wouldn't be an issue.1 -
Open the Lebara appmaggiesoup said:Thankyou. Can you explain how I do this please
top right corner, press 'more'
Select 'plans and top up
Third option along the top 'top up'
gives you the option to top up £5, £10 etc etc
