I am kind of worried about it, though it’s not signficantly impacting my day to day life. I am certainly washing my hands more often and more intensively and trying to be more careful about touching my face and eyes. Though I’ve always been the kind of person who washes their hands after being in any public area, before preparing food etc so this is just enhancing what I do rather than totally changing it. The main reason is that the symptoms sound unpleasant and it also sounds to me like our chances of getting any real help medically might be compromised in the event of the spread of the disease. I am pretty healthy and would have a decent chance of surviving it but it could be pretty unpleasant in the meantime. I had the flu a few years ago and that was bad enough frankly. I would also be worried about potentially passing it on to others.
For practical actions I’ve thrown a few more long life foods into the basket the last few shoppings I’ve done and I have stocked up on painkillers, bleach, cold medicines and hand gel. But I’ve pretty much just bought a few more of things that I would usually have in the house anyway. Hoping not to need them but no harm in being prepared.1
