Sorry to hear that.barnstormerdog said:The judge accepted there was a contract and the signs were clear an I had already paid for a ticket so was aware.
The judge said that I was not entitled to present a breach of contract on the IPC / BPA issue but that was between the parties of that contract.
PPS were entitled to enforce.
£90 was reasonable.
Its says everyday on the sign so he felt that justified the two charges for the 2 days.
He has not let them charge the additional charges of £100
But I have to pay their fees for today £140 so £180 + £140 = £320 in total and I have 30 days to pay or CCJ..

Why £140 in costs? Surely it should be £25 claim fee + £25 hearing fee + £50 solicitors cost, so £180 + £100 = £280?2

Yep, don't understand that bit!Were_Doomed said:Why £140 in costs? Surely it should be £25 claim fee + £25 hearing fee + £50 solicitors cost, so £180 + £100 = £280?1 -
It was £35 claim fee, £50 solicitors & £55 hearing.1
-
As above; as the original claim was for more than £300.2

Maybe it's due to 2 PCN,s ? Possibly higher costs than for one ?0

Regarding WS filed late, he made a note but felt I had had it since August so was not at any disadvantage.1

That at least now makes sense. However I don't see why a Litigant in Person defendant should be unduly punished for a claimant's exaggerated claim. If they'd only claimed what the judge allowed (the PCN values plus solicitor charge) then the amount claimed would have been less than £300, so £25 filing and hearing fees.barnstormerdog said:It was £35 claim fee, £50 solicitors & £55 hearing.2 -
Yep, that should have been what you raised - if they'd claimed the right amount their costs would have been lower.1

That is true but I am not sure any Defendant could be expected to work that out on the spot and think to mention it.Were_Doomed said:Castle said:As above; as the original claim was for more than £300.

It is a shame to see some Judges taken in by parking firms and even more important that the PAS232 and single appeals service gets it right.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
