That would be the case if the forum was moved over a weekend and MSE had no idea it was going to happen - but instead both  the move and the timing of it was their choice and they had months to sort it out before hand so there should only be small "snagging" bits to be done if anything, not every single useful feature from this section.

I wasn't commenting on the way the move was handled but on the apparent assumption that just because things had been done in the old forum, they should already know how to do them in the new one.

They wouldn't necessarily know immediately how to do things on the new forum but as they had months to prepare before going live it would reasonable to assume things would sorted then and not after the forum went live.

As I said, I wasn't commenting on the way the move was handled.

The new forum should do more not less.  Did they not run live user tests to ensure functionality was retained or even improved.  It is completely unworkable in its current form and the lack of progress and updates are a concern.

I appreciate what you are saying, I do know that it's not just a revamp, but the point I was making was that we had that functionality on the old forum, so I'm sure they have had enough time to give us the same functionality on the new one.  If they hadn't done it during the development / testing phase (and I do think they should have done), they have had another four weeks to replicate it.  I don't for one minute believe that the fact it's a totally new forum, means that they don't know how to do things that they did before.

I just want 3 things from the new forum.
1 I want the hover option returned - so you can see what a post is about.
2 I want the green tick returned so I can easily see what posts I have commented on.
3 I want to be able to get to the last post - first - without having to go through pages and pages of comments.

That is all I want changed.

Good things.  If I were asked for my top three they would be;

1) Search to work properly

2) Ability to skip without clicking into a competition

3) Ability to sort the board in different ways such as alpha order.
