Starling's limit will be £500, the same as every other bank (that I know of). It says so on their website:

I've got the mobile cheque deposit facility now. The limit is £500, as expected. This is Android, not an iPhone.

In my Starling Android app it showing cheque deposit by photo up to £500 and anything above £500 to send to their freepost address.

I will test this out soon when my RBS PPI claim cheque arrives

Deposited a cheque yesterday lunchtime, cleared just after 8am this morning.  Initially it was dated as Monday after deposit, but changed to today when it cleared.

Yep, there was an app update 1-2 days ago.
