I'm assuming that it lost money , I'm not sure how they monetised the app and website apart from new customer sign up

I've just had the email too, such a shame, it was a very useful tool to check for the cheapest prices, and for getting alerts when offers were on for some of our staple buys. Seems that it's closing with very little notice, is there anything similar that we can use to check prices, without checking individual stores websites?
  • I didn't see this post.  I have just started a post to ask if anyone knows of an alternative.  I will be at a real loss without it.  I know there are lots of price comparison sites  for internet shopping but all I want is something with Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Aldi, Lidl on, that I can use on my phone quickly when I am in the shop to see if anywhere else is substantially cheaper.  It has saved me a lot doing this in the past.  I use it if I am spending quite a bit on one item(s) and then I pop to the cheapest supermarket for that item on my way home.  I don't want to wade through online prices at the same time.  Does anyone know of anything else that does this?
  • Just had the e-mail.   This is terrible news.  I shop at all the supermarkets and use the site to decide who had the best offers on at the moment.  I also find the alert e-mails (when something is on sale) to be incredibly useful.
Have to wonder if one of the big supermarkets is paying them not to do it in future.

I'm really gutted about this, as someone on a limited budget this app is a godsend. I really need an alternative!

3 days is ridiculously short notice! I wonder what happened?
  • Here's hoping for an alternative......it will be a miss

I'm looking too, haven't found an equivalent yet. This is bad news - I enjoy paying minimum for the same product - even for a bottle of Rock squash!

Likewise. Despite my dislike of its general appearance and functionality of recent years, it has been great for keeping track of prices. Even today I've had a couple of emails to let me know prices of some of my watched items have dropped. I guess I'll have to start browsing each company's website separately.

I think it would be a lot of work, so i wouldn't expect anything for a while, if ever.
