I suspect rather than "ramping up" prices, the cheaper fare buckets have sold out as more flights are cancelled and people look for alternatives. It is pretty common for prices to increase the closer to departure as availability decreases

My friend and I have got a road-trip booked around Scotland in May with a Travelodge, Hostelworld, Premier inn and an Air B&B. The Air B&B has already made contact to keep up with health updates, but the others are yet to change policy. How will the virus affect this trip?0

The prices are listed as Ryanair not any 3rd party and direct you to its site. I could book it that way for £40. If I try and re-book its £79.99 for the same flight. I'm not happy at this but I will book a flight in November and take the hit.
Are their any Insurance guys here? The alternative is to get a claim off them. AXA have a clause that says ''If you have underlying medical conditions and booked the policy when I did then you can claim the costs back or the difference of the price.
I have also paid a £20 fee at Booking.com so that I can cancel any future booking and get refunded. This was paid after my hotel booking so the original booking will not come under it. But will the subsequent one be under it.
I've been allowed to change my booking with authorisation from the Hotel itself until a later date.0 -
I have a Jet2 flight booked 27 March to Tenerife, a return flight on March 31st with easy Jet and a hotel booked directly from the hotel's website. Jet2 have cancelled all flights but I have yet to hear from them directy. I have messaged the hotel via FBook as their contact form doesn't work so am waiting to hear about cancelling that, even tho payment is due on my credit card on 21st March and the booking states no refunds or cancellations. There is a long waiting time on the Halifax Clarity phone line so I will tray again later. Not tackled Easy Jet yet. Also been trying to contact Staysure Insurance for 3 days re increasing my travel disruption insurance. Their website is broken and phone lines just say to call back later. Don't know what to do now.

Most airlines will deal with bookings in date order (many airlines are stating not to call unless you are travelling in the next 7 days)
information available for both airlines
Jet2 - https://www.jet2.com/flights/incident
Easyjet - https://www.easyjet.com/en/help/preparing-to-fly/latest-travel-information0 -
Thanks Caz3121. I understand about Jet 2 proritising customers and presume, as they cancelled, not me, they will refund me. The hotels says they know about Jet2 and suggest I "contact Jet2 for options". But this is not a Jet2 package holiday so why would they involve themselves in my hotel booking (just thinking out loud) Hoping that Easy jet follow suit so I will get that flightr refunded too without any problem. Wish I could get thru to Staysure.0

Hoping someone can answer this.We had a package holiday booked, flights and a hotel, to Prague. We were due to depart Friday 13th at 6pm. Around lunchtime the FCO advised against all travel to Prague so we didn't go.I contacted the travel company requesting a refund but they're refusing to. Instead they insist they provide us a credit so we can rebook at a later date, that they don't need to refund as per their T&C's. I've looked over this and it's not clear at all.Where do we stand with this? It was an ATOL Protected package. Are we entitled to a refund? I'm worried if we accept the credit and the travel company goes under we won't get anything back, and to be honest we just like the money back so it's sitting in our account and not someone elses.0

Hoping for some advice. I have a holiday to Spain booked for Oct 20, but schoolboy error, delayed getting insurance. As FCO advice is not to visit Spain now, is it worth getting whatever cover I can now, or wait to see what happens over the next few months?0
